Content Producer

As a Content Producer & Community Specialist at Docent, you will be responsible for developing and executing a content strategy that brings contemporary art to life for our audience. To do so, you will create compelling narratives that resonate with both new and experienced art lovers and collectors, helping to demystify the art world and make it more accessible. You will also engage with our community (online and offline) using organic and paid outreach on social media.

Your content will span various formats, including short form videos (adapted to social media), video scripts, interviews, opinion pieces. You’ll work closely with galleries, artists, and internal teams to ensure that all content aligns with our brand vision and objectives. You will monitor our community engagement and adapt our content accordingly.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a content marketing strategy focused on storytelling and education in contemporary art using text, images and videos.
  • Produce high-quality written, visual, and video content from conceptualisation to editing.
  • Engage with our community across social platforms, fostering relationships and maintaining an active presence.
  • Collaborate with galleries and artists to produce in-depth stories, interviews, and features that highlight their work.
  • Be a Docent advocate online and foster relationships with established and emerging influencers and content creators to amplify Docent’s brand equity and reach.
  • Manage and maintain a content calendar, ensuring consistent and timely publication of content across all channels.
  • Analyse content performance using analytics tools and adjust strategies based on data-driven insights.
  • Work closely with the Brand Activation & Marketing Manager to ensure content is effectively distributed and promoted.


Required Skills:

  • Strong writing and storytelling abilities, with a keen understanding of how to make complex topics accessible and engaging.
  • Intimate knowledge of social media and online communities with a focus on Instagram and TikTok.
  • Proficient in graphic design and video editing software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects or proven efficiency with native social media tools for creating videos. Content creation skills are crucial to the role.
  • Strong visual storytelling abilities with an eye for detail, ensuring all content reflects the aesthetic and standards of the contemporary art world.
  • Passion for contemporary art, with a strong desire to make the art world more inclusive.
  • Creativity and the ability to think outside the box, bringing innovative ideas to life.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Profile:

  • Creative with a keen eye for design and visual arts, a compelling portfolio and promising Art Direction skills.
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary art and ideally with an Arts degree.
  • Experience in a creative publication or creating and posting their own content.
