DBI's design department is growing and we are looking for a Senior Designer.
In this context, your main responsabilities are:
- Develops product for Men Underwear (MUW) & Sport relative to seasonal concepts and the DBI brands aesthetic. Manages the product development from Big ideas Pipeline to final garment approval.
- Researches seasonal & emerging trends (runway, pop culture, trend services ) appropriate for the DBI brands aesthetic and customer expectations. Contributes to finding inspiration based on conceptual direction and collaborates with the design team on identifying seasonal style direction.
- Stays up to date on competitor research and Sport & MUW innovation and identifies new ideas and product whitespaces in the assortment.
- Complete line plan requirements for assigned categories on a seasonal basis ensuring product is consistent with trend & business strategies.
- Creates & modifies technical Illustrator sketches for design presentations and techpacks
- Creates and updates product techpacks in PLM.
- Attends all fit sessions and manages product updates for assigned categories including garment approvals for bulk.
- Participates in seasonal Strategy, Concept and weekly Business meetings. Presents ideas in seasonal Sketch Review meetings.
- Collaborates and follows-up on deliverables with merchandising, production and regional vendors throughout the design process.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Apparel Design or a related field
- Fluent in English and French
- 5+ years’ experience, Men underwear or Sport experience required
- Experiences abroad. and/or for an international brand required
- Skilled in Adobe Illustrator, Proficient in Microsoft Office, Experience with PDM/PLM software
- Interest to evolve with a growing international brand
- Highly creative with a commercial fashion eye
- Skilled understanding of garment construction, raw materials and their technicalities
- Technical fit experience and knowledge a plus
- Ability to work with a team and effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional and vendor partners
- Skilled in organization and time management with the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing business priorities
