GravitHy in a nutshell


The Iron and steel industry is a fundamental cornerstone of the European Economy. It provides globally around 300 000 directs and 1.6 million indirect jobs and an estimated cumulated added value of eighty-two billion Euros annually in Europe. Nevertheless, the iron and steel industry rely on the utilization of fossil fuel and results in approximately 190 million tons of CO2 emitted annually; 5% of EU overall CO2 emissions.

GravitHy is a newly created French company with global ambition to decarbonize the steel industry by producing at scale green and low carbon Direct Reduced Iron out of renewable and low-carbon hydrogen. GravitHy aims to build, own and operate a first green iron plant in the south of France to be replicated in Europe and beyond.


Role

We are looking for our Head of Plant Intelligence to lead our digitalization efforts, ensuring the seamless integration of smart technologies and data-driven insights across our production processes. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in enhancing operational efficiency, optimizing resource utilization, and mitigating environmental impact.

You will be tasked with envisioning and actualizing a robust plant intelligence framework that integrates cutting-edge digital solutions such as IoT, AI, and machine learning. This framework will serve as the backbone of our operations, enabling real-time insights, predictive analytics, and optimized decision-making processes, thereby ensuring operational excellence and sustainability.

The Head of Plant Intelligence will also work closely with various stakeholders, both internal and external, to identify opportunities and challenges in the digitalization journey. Through a deep understanding of industry trends, emerging technologies, and sustainability practices, you will help shape the digital future of GravitHy ensuring that our production processes are not only efficient and innovative but also environmentally responsible and compliant with global standards.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for plant intelligence and digitalization, aligning with the company's sustainability goals and business objectives.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for plant intelligence, aligning with Industry 4.0 and 5.0 principles, and ensuring synergy with the company’s sustainability goals and business objectives.
  • Drive the integration of advanced technologies such as AI, machine learning, IoT, and cobots, enhancing operational efficiency and fostering innovation.
  • Build and maintain sophisticated process models to simulate and analyze various production scenarios
  • Lead cross-functional teams to design and deploy intelligent systems for real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and process optimization.
  • Foster a data-driven culture, ensuring accessibility, accuracy, and security of operational data, and promoting data literacy across the organization.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for digital transformation and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to stay ahead of the curve and maintain our competitive edge in green production.
  • Manage budgets, timelines, and deliverables related to plant intelligence projects, ensuring ROI and aligning with overall business goals.


Qualifications – Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing intelligence, digitalization, or a related field, with a focus on sustainable production.
  • Proven experience in leading and implementing digital transformation initiatives in an industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Industry 5.0 principle and 4.0 technologies, including IoT, AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
