FUNCTION: Product Chemistry Manager
LOCATION: Lyon, France
JOB TYPE: Permanent
ROLE SENIORITY: Managerial
GET TO KNOW YOUR AREA:
- Responsible to identify, define, implement and support all activities and rules in connection with Product Chemistry for registration worldwide for an identified portfolio (Active Substances (ASs), related Plant Protection Products (PPPs) and Formulants)
- Enable and support the compliance of the products between Registration and Production with respect of international requirements
- Coordinate all Product Chemistry related tasks
YOUR MISSION WILL BE TO:
- Coordinate, prepare and supply the Global, Regional and Country Regulatory Managers with the Product Chemistry parts of the dossiers and all documentation necessary to ensure registration and defense of active ingredients and products (> 2000 registrations in ~ 100 countries)
- Provide specific day-to-day expertise in the field of responsibility, answering questions from the authorities, customers & various internal stakeholders across the organization (Global Innovation, Commercial, Product Supply, ..), and generating specific and adapted statements and certificates enabling compliance and license to operate. Ensure direct contact with the authorities as needed.
- Coordinate and prepare bridging or comparison statements including tox, eco-tox and classification.
- Participate to the definition of the Product Chemistry program/budget for the Regulatory Affairs to meet global and regional registration objectives for the portfolio responsibility.
- Set priorities serving the best way for global and regional projects to contribute to shorten time to market for the portfolio responsibility.
- Negotiate with Product Supply (PS), to propose, check and release on behalf of Regulatory Affairs all specifications and to contribute to an efficient portfolio streamlining.
- Provide advice on behalf of Regulatory Affairs in internal and/or external projects, committees, task forces (internal and external) when it comes to discussions of Product Chemistry subjects.
- Identify, define and integrate common standards, rules, national and international requirements for all Product Chemistry tasks including the best way to carry out the Product Chemistry studies for the registration of active substances and formulations on a worldwide basis in close contact with the experts from the relevant functions.
- As need per the organization, prepare and provide adequate Product Chemistry trainings to relevant internal or external stakeholders.
ARE YOU READY FOR THE ROLE?
Main requirements:
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a closely related field. Further education in agriculture, physical, health or natural sciences will be a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree plus 15+ years of experience, Master’s degree plus 12+ years of experience or PhD plus 8+ years of experience
- Experience in the agrochemical industry and/or in Regulatory Affairs is mandatory.
- Good knowledge of production procedures of active substances and formulations.
- In-depth knowledge on regulations and guidelines worldwide, particularly for the field expertise
- Ability to work in a multi-functional and multi-cultural environment.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- A good knowledge on data management is needed.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
