ABOUT THE ROLE


At CFM our Legal & Compliance team are involved in complex projects requiring a deep understanding of capital market regulations across the world. If you’re a team player, have brilliant attention to detail and want to work in an international environment specialised in financial markets, come and join our team


CFM is looking to reinforce its legal team and employ a Hedge Fund Lawyer, who will report to the Head of Legal.


Based in Paris, depending on the qualifications and disposition of the candidate, the position will involve actively participating in all or some of the following areas:

  • Draft constitutional documents, offering documents and agreements of investment vehicles
  • Assist in the structuring of investment funds and vehicles (Hedge Funds, UCITS, 40 Act & Managed Accounts) to accommodate investor needs
  • Assist in the negotiation of trading, financing and derivatives agreements and other contracts generally under US/UK law
  • Assist in the review and negotiation of data licensing agreements and other IP-related work
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel as well as other advisors
  • Participate actively in the development of CFM’s global asset management business and assist in investor negotiations
  • Translate CFM’s business needs into products, counterparty relationships, agreements and processes
  • Support corporate development and strategic initiatives of CFM
  • Collaborate with and support Investor Relations, Operations and IT teams on legal, regulatory and tax matters



SKILLSET REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS


  • Qualified lawyer (no particular jurisdiction required), with top grades and a degree from a top rated institution in law
  • Between 3 - 5 years of work experience in trading, financing and derivatives agreements negotiation at a bank, asset manager or law firm (experience with fund structuring is a plus)
  • Keen interest in financial markets and the hedge fund business
  • Fluent written and spoken English, also French is a plus
  • A forward-looking person with ambitions to succeed and that is eager to learn
  • An analytical mind with attention to details and ease for numbers
  • Team player with strong communication skills and capacity to deliver
