The Olefins Market Manager manages the strategic Supply and Demand of all O&P South Olefins products streams, from Lavera cracker production and to Polymers plants in Lavera, Sarralbe and Rosignano, to optimise business gross contribution.
Accountabilities:
Contribute towards delivering the plan: EBITDA, cash and other financial targets for the Olefins business.
Agree the level of supply, based on sound understanding of production economics, of olefins to the other INEOS and third-party companies (sales),
Agree the level of supply, based on sound understanding of sales economics, of olefins from third parties (purchases),
Develop and manage olefins supply strategy,
Establish / maintain very close relationship with O&P North Market Managers and contribute to the delivery of the olefins commercial strategy in the market place through provision of clear and deliverable supply plans for both the short and long term,
Assist in the development of robust financial forecasting for olefins through the provision of accurate short and long term supply plans.
Assist the Olefins Business Manager in the development of challenging medium-term targets for the Olefins business.
Propose medium term strategies for value growth for Lavera olefins and support INEOS derivatives in their growth development strategy.
Produce annual production/demand plans for each asset which will underpin the overall annual Olefins business plan,
Assist and Develop with Business Managers a clear understanding of contract value thus allowing value-based contract portfolio management,
Monitor and manage progress towards the Olefins commercial strategy in monthly review and agree modifications to strategy and targets as appropriate.
Support the Product and Supply manager on the day to day operational and supply related commercial activities of the olefins product stream ensuring commercial targets are achieved as cost-effectively as possible.
Agree with the Olefins Business Manager short term strategies, targets and objectives,
Work actively with the Cracker Supply Manager and Ineos Product/Procurement Managers to evaluate short and medium term Supply and Demand balance
Monitor the performance in delivery against these plans and objectives through monthly and reviews,
Maximise asset utilisation at all points in the industry cycle through implementation of the agreed asset sales strategies,
Assist in development of integrated commercial strategies ensuring higher than industry average utilisation whilst maximising the flexibility for INEOS consuming businesses.
Develop, manage and maintain industry relationships to allow commercial development in both infrastructure and pure commercial relationships.
Develop strong relationships with customers and suppliers of olefins for O&P (Europe) South,
Work closely with counterparts in O&P Europe North, Oxide and Inovyn to maximise Ineos group value.
Maximise the commercial benefit from these strong industry relationships.
Required profile:
Level of education & Experience in general
Degree level education in science or business.
Previous Sales experience and management of large blue-chip accounts, ideally in chemicals industry or Negotiation at high level.
Extended experience in technical and commercial functions – sales, marketing, purchasing
High level of business/commercial acumen together with strong analytical skills
Knowledge of the ABC regulations
Limited travel requirement but need to be flexible.
Technical skills
- French and English - Fluent.
- Highly developed selling and negotiation skills
- Ability to rapidly understand and interpret information on market dynamics
- Sound understanding of financial data
- Strong competence with standard business software (e.g. Excel / Word / PowerPoint, etc.)
- Good understanding of the chemistry and production processes.
