Job Overview:
I am working with a pioneering drug discovery and AI enabled biotech based in Paris who are looking to expand their Drug Discovery team with a Senior Drug Hunter. The core mission statement of this position is to be instrumental in selecting and optimising molecules across various drug discovery programs. Your role will span the entire project lifecycle, from early development to the nomination of pre-clinical candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Molecule Design: Through my clients AI platform you will design and synthesise small molecules targeting specific therapeutic areas.
- Optimisation: Use advanced AI-driven techniques to enhance drug candidates' efficacy and safety.
- Cross function collaboration: Present data-driven findings to stakeholders, collaborate with a diverse team of experts and SME’s.
- Execution: Validate and implement foundational technologies, including generative AI algorithms/cheminformatics tools, to accelerate discovery.
- Continuous Improvement: Provide insights to refine the platform, driving continuous technological advancements.
- Innovation: Propose and implement new strategies to improve drug discovery processes, increasing accuracy and scalability.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in pharmaceutical, biotech, or CRO settings focused on computational chemistry for small molecules.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in computational chemistry, using structure-based and ligand-based methodologies.
- Educational Background: Ph.D. and/or postdoctoral experience with a strong publication record.
- Drug Discovery Experience: Proven success in progressing compounds from hit identification to pre-clinical candidates.
- Target Familiarity: Experience with diverse targets, including kinases, GPCRs, and ion channels.
- Data Management: Skilled in handling experimental data, including biochemical assays and ADME-Tox analysis.
Technical Proficiencies:
- Proficiency in Python within Linux/UNIX environments.
- Familiarity with computational chemistry tools (e.g., RDKIT, GROMACS).
- Strong understanding of protein structures and interactions.
- Experience in structure-based drug design and various cheminformatics techniques.
- Knowledge of medicinal chemistry principles and methods for optimizing drug properties.
- Ability to analyse data trends and utilize statistical methods for reproducibility and informed decision-making.
