We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior GNC Engineer to join our Rendezvous team in Toulouse. This role is crucial to the development and enhancement of our Rendezvous solution, directly contributing to the mission's success through advanced systems engineering and problem-solving capabilities.
Position Overview:
As a Senior GNC Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing state-of-the-art Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) algorithms and integrating them into our spacecraft's architecture. You will collaborate closely with a team of experts to define operational concepts, ensure system reliability, and drive mission success. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced engineer to make a significant impact in the rapidly evolving field of space exploration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Algorithm Development: Develop state-of-the-art GNC algorithms to ensure optimal performance and reliability of our spacecraft systems.
- Algorithm Integration: Integrate GNC algorithms into the overall system architecture, aligning with system parameters, including sensors, actuators, and computers.
- Sensitivity Analysis: Conduct sensitivity analysis to define and assess the performance and robustness of the GNC algorithms under various conditions.
- Concept of Operations (ConOps): Actively participate in defining the Rendezvous Concept of Operations (ConOps) and Safety Concepts, including Failure Detection, Isolation, and Recovery (FDIR) strategies.
- Validation & Verification: Support the development and execution of GNC Validation & Verification processes to ensure the reliability and efficacy of the Rendezvous solution.
- Mission Operations Support: Aid in Rendezvous and Docking Operations throughout the lifecycle of the mission, ensuring mission objectives are achieved safely and efficiently.
Requirements:
- Education: Master’s degree or equivalent in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Ph.D. is a plus.
- Experience: At least 8 years of professional experience in GNC/AOCS systems for satellites.
- Mission Heritage: Proven track record as part of a GNC, AOCS, or Flight Dynamics team on at least one successful satellite mission.
- Programming Skills: Excellent programming skills, with extensive experience in MATLAB/Simulink and autocoding practices. Experience in implementing and verifying software on flight computers.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of staff and external partners.
- Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English is required. Additional language skills are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with advanced autonomous systems and machine learning applications in GNC.
- Familiarity with space industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in designing and implementing FDIR strategies.
