Service Engineer – Break/Fix Technician
TeamSoft's client is looking for a contract Service Engineer.
**This position is on-site in Saint Ouen L'Amone, France for a global manufacturing company.
Job Summary:
The Service Engineer will support basic incident resolution and requests reported to the corporate service desk. You will be responsible for collecting information through a customer conversation, accessing support tools, and additional support staff (service resources) if needed. Problems beyond the scope of their ability or responsibility are resolved by engaging promptly with other service resources from facilities, business units, divisions, or corporate groups.
- Determines requirements by working with internal customers.
- Answers inquiries by clarifying desired information; researching, locating, and providing information.
- Resolves problems by instructive issues; researching and exploring answers and alternative solutions; implementing solutions; escalating unresolved problems.
- Fulfills requests by helpful desired information; completing transactions; and forwarding requests.
- Maintains ticketing system by entering information.
- Keeps equipment operational by following established procedures and reporting malfunctions.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma required. Preferred college degree or industry-recognized technical certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical support or break/fix role.
- Experience in a corporate service desk environment is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues.
- Basic understanding of PC hardware and OS architecture, network, and client-server concepts.
- Familiarity with tools and architecture, including OS navigation, file structures, command execution, file and user security, job scheduling, and basic scripting.
- Knowledge of vendor policies, procurement procedures, and key contractual agreement concepts.
