Meraki Talent’s high growth FinTech client is seeking a Principal Engineer (FinTech - Trading) to lead and develop a team of 6/7 experienced Engineers of varying levels. This is a hands on role, where the Principal Engineer (FinTech - Trading) will be expected to ‘get their hands dirty’ and ‘roll up their sleeves’ whilst still leading, training and mentoring others around. This is not a people management role, more knowledgeable expert, for a highly experienced and knowledgeable expert in engineering. The Principal Engineer (FinTech - Trading) will be an expert will represent the senior technical leadership within the department. They will be driving the development of high-profile projects, assisting leaders in creating strategic roadmaps. The business develops a wide range of trading products and manages hundreds of internal and external servers and apps, with their product range and services growing exponentially.


Our client is hugely culture centric, and embraces working as a team, and the whole business work collaboratively together in their office 5 days per week.


Responsibilities of the Principal Engineer (FinTech - Trading):


- Play a key role in tech contributions assisting organisational growth

- Develop future-proof solutions, solving l problems of a highest complexity, lead architectural design, and perform integration in alignment whilst keeping up with the growth of the business

- Devise strategies to establish the technical direction for components and services

- Create strong coding standards, maintain technical design documents, and develop operational concepts and interfaces

- Solve scaling problems with architectural changes


Background of the Principal Engineer (FinTech - Trading):


- Strong pedigree working within software engineering is essential for this role. Our client is looking for someone highly experienced with ideally 15+ years experience working specifically in software engineering

- Experience in training, leading or developing other engineers essential

- Experience working in the FinTech, Trading, Crypto or wider Financial Services

- Deep knowledge in at least one of the following: Ideally Python, alternatively C, C++, Node JS, Golang or VueJS

- Solid cloud knowledge, ideally AWS

- Experience of Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform very helpful

- Ability to speak fluent (or near fluent, business professional) both French and English essential

- Happy to work in the office 5 days per week (Non negotiable)
