Senior Solution Data Engineer

Purpose of the job

LVMH as a group is meant to accelerate the transformation of its Maisons, especially around Digital and IT areas. As such, being part of LVMH IT means delivering assets and guidelines to deploy supporting capabilities in an omnichannel, data driven business world. In this perspective, LVMH IT is seeking a Senior Solution Engineer who will support the most advanced Maisons in their data journey, including AI / Generative AI / Data visualization projects.

The main objective of the Senior Solution Engineer is to be the best supporting partner LVMH Maisons will seek for advice around the different assets which are developed by LVMH Group. As part of a team of Solution Engineers and under the leadership of the Head of Data Tech Adoption and Deployment, she/he will be responsible for ensuring the good deployment of guidelines and assets in the different Maisons.

Missions

The Senior Solution Engineer will conduct the following missions:

  • From a Maisons perspective:
  • Be the trusted advisor for Maisons to engage with their key tech stakeholders (head of data, …) to identify Maison’s priorities, technical landscape, constraints, …
  • Master the LVMH data related assets to be able to deploy them “hands on.”
  • Support the most advanced Maisons in their “One Data Platform” migration, working on the migration of legacy data platform to the GCP one
  • Support the Maisons in the deployment of genAI capabilities to support their business Use Cases
  • Support the Maisons in the delivery of Data Visualization use cases.
  • From LVMH perspective:
  • Identify and write down guidelines related to what the Solution Engineer will encounter in the Maison context, around:
  • data engineering / data migration (feed, transformation, orchestration…)
  • data visualization (dataset feed and update, optimization of queries)
  • and progressively around embedding/retrieval augmented generation as it will be deployed in the Maisons
  • Work closely with the Product and Engineering team to master LVMH assets and provide insights on expected improvements.
  • Work closely with all team members within IT, and especially within Data department.

As a team member, the objectives are the following:

  • Provide hands-on technical guidance to the Head of Data Tech Deployment and Adoption and the Data and Architecture team in general.
  • Show capacity to help other team members with technical problems if necessary.
  • Work under the technical leadership of the Head of Engineering

Required skills

  • Very strong background in Data projects and implementation
  • Data Engineering and Data platform onGoogle Cloud Platform (especially around BigQuery)
  • Data Visualization onPowerBI (especially on dataset update, capacity optimization)
  • First notions of generative AI technical setup
  • around prompt engineering, RAG and embedding in general (on GCP / Vertex AI is a plus)
  • capacity to explain how it works and what is the standard technical setup to deliver a use case.
  • actual tests done with the technology would be a plus.

  • Ability to explain in simple words technical concepts and how to implement them.
  • Communicate in French and English fluently.
  • Excellent problem-solving, written/verbal communication, presentation, and active listening skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-team and influence multiple stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Listen to your interlocutors with empathy.
  • Team spirit / pugnacity
  • Will to get hands-on if necessary.
  • 7/10 years of experience in a similar position
