The company is a well-established and respected power and gas brokerage with several offices in Europe. For this role, a preference would be to be located in Paris or Milan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute voice-brokered trades primarily in EU and UK Emissions Trading System (ETS) allowances (EUAs & UKAs) and other carbon market products
- Cultivate and nurture strong relationships with an established diverse client base, including power generators, industrial companies, and financial institutions active in carbon markets
- Provide expert market insights, real-time pricing information, and superior execution services to already existing clients
- Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities in the evolving carbon markets
- Ensure compliance with MiFID II regulations and internal policies in all trading activities
- Collaborate seamlessly with our electronic trading team to facilitate hybrid voice/electronic execution strategies
- Stay at the forefront of carbon market trends, regulatory developments, and innovative trading strategies
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a voice broker in carbon, energy, or related commodity markets
- Comprehensive knowledge of carbon markets, with particular expertise in European compliance carbon markets (EU and UK ETS)
- Exceptional verbal communication skills and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure trading environment
- Fluency in English; proficiency in additional European languages is highly advantageous
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex market data
