Role Overview:
We are seeking a Storage & Backup Consultant with expertise in storage and backup administration to support our clients global operations across 35 sites. The role focuses on managing and improving storage and backup systems, including incident tracking, system exploitation, and the implementation of new services. The candidate will be involved in critical incident management, coordination with application and business areas, and ensuring the proper functioning and redundancy of solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and resolve storage and backup incidents in coordination with Level 2 teams offshore.
- Oversee the operation of storage equipment (NetApp -NFS/CIFS-) and ensure optimal performance.
- Implement new storage and backup services, contributing to the overall IT strategy.
- Participate in critical incident management and crisis resolution efforts.
- Prepare hardware and labeling for storage solutions.
- Install and update operating systems and configure management IPs.
- Conduct solution testing, including redundancy and power supply tests.
- Coordinate technically with application and business areas to ensure seamless integration.
- Draft and update detailed architecture and operational documentation.
- Update the CMDB and improve incident management and monitoring processes.
- Support the operations team during production transitions and major changes.
- Collaborate with project managers and build teams during go-live phases.
- Participate in mock-up and pilot phases, including technical configuration tasks.
Technical knowledge required:
- Expertise in storage systems (NetApp) and backup solutions (Commvault, BackupExec, NetBackup).
- Strong system experience with Windows Server and VMWare.
- Proven ability to manage and resolve complex incidents within a global IT environment.
- Experience in drafting and updating technical and operational documentation.
- Fluent English (oral and written) is required for effective communication.
- Cisco CCNP, CCIE, or PMP are highly desirable
