ICC is currently undergoing a transformation and has initiated multiple change programmes. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Strategic Project Portfolio Manager to lead our Project Management Office (PMO) and oversee the centralised management of all projects. You will drive the application of best project management practices, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. As a strategic partner, you will enhance our organisation's project management maturity, provide guidance and support to project managers, and ensure effective governance and quality control across our project portfolio.

The role


Drive best project management practices: lead the application of best project management activities from initiation (drafting and leading the approval of business cases, project planning) to execution (delivering projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards), providing continuous reporting to governing bodies.


Centralised project management dashboard: compile all ICC projects into a comprehensive project management dashboard, ensuring data accuracy and providing continuous portfolio analytics (e.g., projects started, stopped, completed, percentage on time, on budget, within specifications).


Continuous project reviews and evaluation: conduct ongoing project reviews to prioritise initiatives, advising on project termination when necessary to enhance efficiency and optimise resource utilisation. Implement a robust monitoring and evaluation system to track project outcomes and productivity gains, ensuring continuous improvement in project delivery.


Lead complex projects: lead specific complex projects as a project/programme manager, demonstrating best practices in project management and setting an example for other project leads.


Enhance project management maturity: establish processes, provide tools and training, and lead the project management community with coaching on various project management themes to enhance the organisation's overall project management maturity.


Manage new project requests and business cases: oversee the PMO function by managing new project requests, assisting departments in drafting and reviewing business cases to ensure they are comprehensive and ready for presentation to the project steering committee, improving the quality and feasibility of proposed projects.


Primary point of contact: serve as the primary point of contact for project management advice and support across the organisation, offering strategic guidance and practical solutions to project challenges.


Project risk management: develop and implement a project risk management framework for strategic projects to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the project portfolio, enhancing project success rates.


Quality control and PMO governance: ensure quality control of existing projects, maintaining high standards and consistent project delivery across the portfolio, while providing central management for all ICC projects, tracking project records, and managing the central dashboard as part of the PMO function.



Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business, project management, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.

Certifications in project management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile methodologies) highly desirable, reflecting a solid foundation in project management principles.

Over six years of project management experience, ideally including work in a PMO setting, with a strong emphasis on managing both operational and technology-driven projects and familiarity with PMI methodologies.

Demonstrated expertise in portfolio management and analytics, able to oversee multiple projects and derive insights from project data to inform strategic decisions.

Proven ability to manage complex projects from initiation to completion, using appropriate tools and analytical methods.

Exceptional stakeholder management skills, capable of navigating complex organisational landscapes and building consensus across various levels, including the C-suite.

Strong coaching skills, with experience in developing project management capabilities within teams.

Effective communication and influence skills, with proficiency in English; French is a plus.

Knowledge of agile and continuous improvement methodologies is advantageous but not required.
