Université de technologie de Compiègne is seeking to fill a researcher position for the IDEES project, for the Departments of Industrial Process Engineering (GPI) and Technology and Human Sciences (TSH).

The project "Integration of Environmental, Economic and Social Dimensions in a Circular Economy Logic – IDEES" aims to develop a decision support tool for the choice of scenarios for the management of organic matter in a territory, based on a systemic approach and taking into account environmental, economic and social impacts in a circular economy logic.

This project is funded by the Hauts-de-France region.

Summary

With the IDEES project, it is planned to:

Adapt environmental, economic and social assessment methodologies to the context of organic waste management, taking into account the specificities of these management systems;Test these new methodologies on study cases, scenarios defined jointly with the chosen territory;Integrate the results into a decision support tool, in line with the issue of consultation in social life cycle analysis (LCA).

The project is divided into 4 phases:

  • Phase 1: Collection and analysis of existing data
  • Phase 2: Conducting surveys and sampling campaigns
  • Phase 3: Conduct of environmental, economic and social assessment studies
  • Phase 4: Integration of results into a decision support tool

This project will therefore provide a decision support tool for the choice of a sustainable, i.e., livable, viable and equitable, scenario for the management of organic waste materials in a territory.

Mission

The person recruited ensures active participation in the work of the IDEES project. It is charged

to coordinate the actions of the research project between the various partners (UTC, Agglomération de la Région de Compiègne, Syndicat Mixte de l'Oise) and to carry out the research activities in its field of competence.

Principal activities

The work will focus on:

    • Carrying out research actions according to the field of competence
    • Operational coordination of the IDEES project :
    • Ensure good communication between project partners and stakeholders
    • Coordinate actions
    • Organize and facilitate project monitoring meetings
    • Coordination of deliverable writing (interim and final reports)
    • Contribution to the definition of Master's project topics and participation in student recruitment
    • Participation in the drafting of deliverables
    • Participation in the valorization of results (writing of scientific and popularization articles, participation in congresses and conferences...).

Working environment and context

The person recruited will work in two UTC research units: Joint Research Unit UTC-ESCOM Integrated Renewable Matter Transformations (TIMR.) and Knowledge Organization and Technology Systems (Costech).

The recruit is accountable to the UTC Project Managers, maintains regular dialog with them and works closely with the relevant interlocutors.

Travel is planned for the project.
