BoulogneBillancourt, Île-de-France Open Sky International France Temps plein

About Open Sky International

Open Sky International Paris is an English/French bilingual private school, situated in Boulogne-Billancourt on the outskirts of Paris. In our secondary school, we currently have students in all classes from Year 7 to Year 11 and in September 2024 we will open our first Year 12 cohort. We are offering students a range of Edexcel GCSE and IGCSE qualifications this year and next year's Year 12 will study for International A levels. In mathematics, students sit the Edexcel GCSE paper and in all sciences the Edexcel IGCSE is offered.

Our vision is to provide a bilingual education of excellence to our pupils, and our academic programme is built on the strongest aspects of a range of international curricula and teaching and learning methodology. We have high expectations from the onset for all pupils and we aim for our curriculum to be rigorous, broad and engaging. Class sizes across the school are small and our pupils are courteous, hard-working and motivated. We are a fully international school, catering for both French and expatriate families, and we are proud of our multicultural school community. Our staff at all levels are enthusiastic and passionate about education and possess a sound understanding of best practice.

The role

We wish to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced teacher on a full time and permanent basis for our secondary school. The exact timetable offered will depend on the skills and experience of the successful candidate but the ability to teach physics to GCSE/IGCSE and International A level would be a significant advantage.

There is also an expectation that the successful candidate will contribute to our after-school programme, and there is excellent potential for the development of mathematics and science curriculum enrichment activities.

What kind of teacher are we looking for?

We are seeking a qualified and experienced teacher who:

Is a fluent English speaker, with experience of the requirements of the British curriculum.Has experience of teaching mathematics (and preferably physics) to GCSE/IGCSE and ideally A level.Has a good honours degree and qualified teacher status. Is an inspiring professional who enthuses his or her classes. Is enthusiastic and passionate about education, with a sound understanding of best practice. Can demonstrate thorough curriculum knowledge and the capacity to teach their subject area with confidence.Enjoys being a member of a team and always aims to work collaboratively. Ideally the successful candidate will be able to teach some aspects of the mathematics curriculum in French from the outset, although this is open for discussion at interview. For teachers who need support with the development of their French language skills, private lessons with a tutor will be provided by the school. As we are a bilingual school, all teachers are required to speak French. Priority will be given to candidates who already have the right to work within the European Union. What does OSI offer?

The position comes with a competitive salary and support with housing costs and finding accommodation in the Paris area if required.

How to apply

We reserve the right to interview and appoint at any stage of the recruitment process. Early applications are therefore encouraged. For further details about working at OSI, please visit our website.
