The Research and Development laboratory of the Private5G service within the Aruba Telco Solutions organization based in Grenoble is responsible for developing software products that enable the provision of Telecom multimedia services. Its clientele worldwide utilizes these platforms to deploy various services primarily in 3G, 4G, and 5G mobile networks.

What We Will Do Together:

* 1st Position: Apprentice Supercomputing Model and Artificial Intelligence - FLUENT ENGLISH

Within the "HPC & AI" entity of Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, the mission of the EMEA SuperComputing Benchmarks team is to address the technical aspects of bids by evaluating the performance of various existing and upcoming technologies to determine the most efficient configurations for clients.

Activities include responding to bids, optimizing codes provided by clients, and executing them on different technology platforms.
This core team is also responsible for building, sharing, disseminating technical information to (pre-)sales and European partners through targeted documents and events.
The focus of this apprentice engineer position is naturally on the high-performance computing domain, particularly on benchmarks, programming, and optimizing high-performance computing applications.
This involves regular participation in technical discussions and workshops, executing applications on various platforms (X86, GPUS, ARM).
*This position includes the following key roles and responsibilities:

Compiling and porting applications on GPUS/CPUS
Performance measurement and optimization.
Programming
Development of performance testing tools

These activities will be carried out within a rapidly growing team composed of various highly skilled technical experts with diverse and complementary skills.

Tasks assigned to the apprentice for the 1st year:
Discovery of the HPC domain and familiarization with the tools and hardware used in the team.
Development of performance testing tools
Participation in the evaluation of new technologies (performance, security, portability).
Testing/validation of new technologies.
Activities planned for the 2nd and 3rd year:
Increased involvement in bid responses with team members.
Contribution to research topics and collaborations with European clients.

2nd Position: Apprentice Devops Engineer

This presents an exciting opportunity to join the Global R&D Infrastructure Solutioning team in a dynamic, worldwide organization within the innovative HPE Telecom business unit.

Throughout your apprenticeship in various company sequences, we will offer you tasks related to different engineering aspects such as: investigating customer needs, defining functional specifications, development, validation, etc. These tasks may span various teams and methodologies (DevOps, ..) and technologies ranging from hardware infrastructure, networking architectures, to user-application development, and interactions with 3rd party vendors, among others.

During your first year of apprenticeship, you will contribute to Designing, Developing, and Deploying Infrastructure capacity monitoring tools used by a WW R&D audience to manage, track, and control the life-cycle of infrastructure resources encompassing Bare-metal, VMs (VMWare), up to Cloud tenants (Openstack), and OpenShift containers. Additionally, your assistance will be required to automate our Networking architecture.

You will have the chance to work on the tooling that enables infrastructure and Networking as-code, thus facilitating the transition to our Infrastructure as A Service strategy.

Collaborating with the wider team, your solution will involve, for instance, developing Ansible playbooks integrated with the Ansible-Tower framework and creating a front-end user interface for programmatic access to our internal 'Infrastructure as A Service' offering.

Furthermore, you will:

• Ensure regular status updates/dashboards, and participate in coordination and team meetings.
• Develop a deep understanding of the expectations of our R&D community using the Infrastructure.
• Provide guidance to our R&D community during the shift to an automated self-service infrastructure.

The tasks and focus in the second and third years will depend on the evolving needs of the team and your skills and aspirations.

Collectively, you will contribute to providing our Telecommunications R&D community with the automated Infrastructure & Networking necessary for developing and delivering top-notch applications in the realm of 5G, Telecom-Analytics, and more.

To achieve this, you will collaborate closely with our global team situated in Grenoble/France, Vicenza/Italy, and Bangalore/India, with a base in Grenoble.

You will engage regularly with our R&D community worldwide to align proposals with expectations. When required, you will also interact with potential partners contributing to the solution.

3rd Position: Apprentice Telecommunications Engineer

Throughout the different sequences of your Apprenticeship, we aim to offer missions covering various aspects of an Engineer's activities, including investigation, development, validation, etc. These missions will take place in various teams, likely following Agile methodology, involving diverse technologies such as (non-exhaustive list):

Network Functions of the 5G network
Databases: Ignite, Redis, PostgreSQL.
Container-based architectures: Docker, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift
Deployment tools, DevOps: Ansible, Jenkins
Testing tools

During the first year of apprenticeship, the goal will be to familiarize yourself with development methodologies and tools while contributing to the development of our products. The apprentice will engage with various aspects of a software project: specification, coding, testing, and documentation, within an Agile team utilizing a continuous integration and delivery chain.

One of our current development areas is the 5G Core Network. We are developing certain Network Functions of the 5G Core Network in Grenoble, along with components shared by all NFs: the execution base of NFs, common service usage.

We also have a CI/CD integration team that is working on the framework for building, packaging, and automated testing, as well as an end-to-end testing team that focuses on stress, robustness, endurance, and performance testing, of a set of NFs interacting together.

Some of these Network Functions utilize Artificial Intelligence technologies.

This program operates in a "Cloud-native" environment, based on Kubernetes, and associated common services (Istio, Prometheus, Elasticsearch, Grafana, Kibana...)

The focus of the first year will involve actively participating in the development of the code and/or tests of 5G NFs or developing parts of their production chain, such as test automation. The apprentice may also, depending on skills and preferences, participate in end-to-end tests to experience another aspect of software production.

The technologies, methods, and skills implemented will include:

Docker, Kubernetes
Advanced Java programming.
Databases (Ignite)
Application of Dev-Ops concepts
Development and automation of tests in a CI/CD environment (Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment)
Design and implementation of tests
Agile development method
Artificial Intelligence algorithms
The topics for the second and third years will be selected based on the team's development needs, the apprentice's preferences, and skills: contributing directly to an ongoing project, designing prototypes, or evaluating new technologies.

Who You Are?

Student in an engineering school, looking to enhance skills across various IT subjects and projects. Proficiency in English is a must, and solid command and/or knowledge of programming languages such as Python, C, C+, Java, ANSIBLE software, and Linux operating system.
