Job Description:

If you are interested in a learning opportunity in Paris and want to join a vibrant team of Legal Counsels in the IT sector aiding clients in France, consider a 12- to 24-month period with our HPE Legal Department.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is at the forefront of the digital transformation landscape, offering hybrid Cloud solutions spanning servers, storage, networking, software, and services.

The Legal division at HPE plays a critical role in complex business dealings. Our goal is to enhance HPE's success by delivering proactive, practical, and timely legal guidance and contractual support, enabling our clients to achieve growth and customer satisfaction. As part of the HPE family, we cover areas such as IT Commercial Law, Intellectual Property, Mergers and Acquisitions, Ethics, Antitrust, Litigation, and more.

Join the France Legal Team, consisting of 5 members, including 3 lawyers specializing in commercial transactions. This team is part of HPE's North Europe legal team, which comprises over 20 lawyers.

Under the guidance of your tutor, you will delve into the HPE solutions portfolio and hone your legal skills in IT transactions for private and public accounts.

As an Apprentice Legal Counsel, you will:

  • Assist commercial lawyers in negotiating and finalizing key customer transactions for our expanding IT infrastructure and services business in France.
  • Provide support to various Business Units in France, handling their crucial customer contracts with top-notch quality and efficiency.
  • Utilize your commercial legal expertise to engage in negotiations, collaborate effectively within the team, and communicate efficiently.
  • Handle business-related disputes and address legal issues like Privacy, Competition Law, IP, Security, HR, etc. A growth mindset and readiness to tackle unfamiliar challenges are essential for success.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on intricate legal transactions, share knowledge, and contribute to the growth of HPE and our legal team.

Your profile:

  • Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Commercial Law.
  • A strong interest in IT contracts and commercial law is essential.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve legal issues with a solutions-oriented approach, while managing risks effectively.
  • A team player willing to collaborate both within and outside the HPE Legal function.

Qualifications/knowledge required:

  • Passion for Legal matters.
  • Motivated and inquisitive, with a drive for continuous learning and advancement.
  • Methodical, organized, perseverant, and proactive.
  • Strong communication skills, with clarity, fluency, and active listening abilities. Analytical mindset.
  • Proficiency in English, as it will be part of your daily practice.
