Faststream are proud to be partnering with Orion Global Transport France (OGTF) in the search for a Technical Officer. Orion Global Transport France is a dynamic and rapidly growing French-based global shipowner, dedicated to providing safe, sustainable, and innovative shipping solutions to power the global economy. Their mission is rooted in a commitment to excellence, ensuring operations prioritise safety, quality, efficiency, and environmental responsibility. In five years, they envision being a caring, attractive, and well-respected global shipowner with an evolving energy-efficient fleet.
Responsibilities:
  1. Promote and embody the company's mission of providing safe, sustainable, and innovative shipping.
  2. Manage the technical operation and performance of assigned LNG vessels through external partners, ensuring alignment with company safety, quality, efficiency, and environmental standards.
  3. Develop, monitor, and control running cost budgets to meet goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  4. Monitor and ensure compliance with statutory, class, and other third-party requirements.
  5. Supervise and support in managing phases of the dry-docking process from initial planning to completion.
  6. Ensure that all activities, including those by third parties, comply with set Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) standards.
  7. Regularly visit assigned vessels and managers to oversee operations.
  8. Conduct appraisals of the onboard ship management team and external partners.
Qualifications:
  1. Experience as a Technical Superintendent or in a similar role.
  2. BSc/MSc in Marine Engineering or Chief/2Eng Engineer.
  3. Experience in the LNG shipping industry, with operational experience.
  4. Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
  5. Technical skills related to ship operation and repairs.
  6. Good command of English.
  7. French speaking skills would be advantageous

  3. Strong drive, capable of deciding and initiating actions.

  5. Leadership skills.
  6. The ability to work as part of a close team and contribute in various areas of the business
Target commencement date – Within Q2 or Q3 2024
