ROLE PURPOSE

As HVAC Engineer, you utilize your knowledge and experience to perform conceptual and detailed engineering design related to HVAC engineering activities ensuring compliance with international codes, Company specifications, and industry standards and regulations. You may be assigned as a Package Engineer with technical responsibility for the design, procurement and manufacture of the Package. The HVAC Engineer must be able to prioritize assigned activities and collaborate with Engineers and Designers both within and outside the Discipline as needed to ensure deliverables. *The HVAC Engineer may act as Discipline Lead for assigned projects.

ROLE CONTRIBUTION

1. In order that assigned activities are completed successfully YOU ARE TO: 1.1. Understand, plan and deliver assigned tasks with accuracy within agreed time frame 1.2. Identify areas requiring more detailed instructions and clarify understanding/expectation as necessary with Discipline Lead; ensure no surprises 1.3. Develop engineering documents in a manner that the design intent can be interpreted correctly 1.4. Complete tasks in compliance with applicable engineering codes, industry standards/regulations and work procedures 1.5. Proactively interface with Discipline Lead and peers for resolving issues, sharing information and progress 1.6. Seek clarification or guidance as soon as difficulties arise; recommend alternative solutions 1.7. Perform thorough self-check of all deliverables prior to submission for review /approval 1.8. Properly plan work to allow adequate time for documents to be thoroughly checked to ensure accuracy The measure of your effectiveness in this will be: • Performance Feedback from Discipline Leads • Timeline and accuracy in completing tasks

2. In order to achieve effective interface management YOU ARE TO: 2.1. Understand how assigned tasks will affect all disciplines and stakeholders; provide timely and accurate input to other disciplines in support of their design requirements in meeting deadlines 2.2. Proactively provide Discipline Lead with status updates, highlight concerns as they arise, and prioritize assigned activities to meet key milestones 2.3. Network with stakeholders to serve as a source of support in executing project deliverables; ensure proactive two-way communication 2.4. Produce consistent/organized documents in a well-structured format to clearly convey required information 2.5. Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, third party consultants, etc. to ensure timely review of documents and that comments are made with required quality level 2.6. Provide timely and accurate input to other disciplines in support of their design requirements and project deliverables The measure of your effectiveness in this will be: • Demonstrated effective interfaces within and across-disciplines • Timely closure of interface issues

3. In order to contribute to the success of managing changes YOU ARE TO: 3.1. Raise awareness of issues timely to the Discipline Lead; understand the change impact within and across Disciplines and identify the stakeholders to be engaged 3.2. Respectfully challenge proposed changes that significantly impact project deliverables to ensure the best option is taken as the way forward 3.3. Prioritize activities to effectively manage conflicting deadlines to meet key milestones and deliverables 3.4. Ensure changes are conveyed through the established channels of communication to minimize the impact to deliverables and project 3.5. Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in implementing changes 3.6. Ensure Management of Change (MOC) procedures are used to promote positive impact to the project The measure of your effectiveness in this will be: • Resolution of design changes within budget and agreed timeline • Demonstrated understanding of the change impact

4. To ensure quality of engineering deliverables YOU ARE TO: 4.1. Be self-motivated to improve technical competencies for current and future work assignments 4.2. Promote continuous improvement within the Discipline by maintaining/sharing the latest industry developments 4.3. Ensure activities are completed with consistency and in compliance with applicable codes, standards and regulations 4.4. Apply and capture applicable lessons learned in the execution of activities to enable information sharing, increase project efficiencies, and support/develop best practices 4.5. Ensure work is organized and documented in a manner to support the intent of design for easy understanding by others 4.6. Ensure proper level of checks for all deliverables prior to submission; avoid cutting corners The measure of your effectiveness in this will be: • Demonstrated quality of deliverables • Zero design changes that compromise safety and quality • Cost of Non-Quality 5. *If Acting as Lead Engineer: In order that the Project is properly planned

YOU ARE TO: 5.1. Take ownership to define and develop Discipline scope by understanding and evaluating the project requirements 5.2. Identify dependencies and obtain alignment with project stakeholders to ensure safety and quality are not sacrificed in the effort to meet the project schedule 5.3. Collaborate with the Discipline Manager/Engineering Project Manager to accurately forecast man-hours, resource needs, and completion date for deliverables 5.4. Set team expectations for quality standards and enforce safety requirements to meet project needs, corporate standards, and industry regulations The measure of your effectiveness in this will be: • Productivity = Man-hours earned/man-hour spend • Demonstrated understanding of Discipline design impact on other Disciplines • Cost of Non-Quality

6. *If Acting as Lead Engineer: In order to effectively lead an engineering team YOU ARE TO: 6.1. Understand project requirements and appropriately assign tasks to team members 6.2. Ensure each team member understands his/her role and responsibilities 6.3. Provide coaching and guidance as needed to team members; partner with Discipline Manager for mentoring staff as needed 6.4. Proactively address any performance issues and partner with Discipline Manager to continuously improve team performance 6.5. Promote a positive work environment to keep a high level of employee engagement (e.g. by providing timely feedback to team, supporting staff in development needs) 6.6. Ensure previous lessons learned are incorporated into the project to minimize the impact of expected or unforeseen changes; capture new lessons learned and share with Engineering Project Manager and Discipline Manager for future projects The measure of your effectiveness in this will be: • Stakeholder feedback on team leadership • Issuance of deliverables within the agreed time frame • Evidence of support on staff improvement/development 7. *If Acting as Lead Engineer: In order to achieve effective interface management and ensure changes are managed YOU ARE TO: 7.1. Ensure proper communication with internal/external Clients to ensure all parties are promptly informed of project developments 7.2. Proactively track areas likely to change to reduce the "surprise" element, added costs and delays to project 7.3. Document all deviations from agreed scope and budget hours to accurately adjust man hour forecast and project completion date for related change 7.4. Understand and monitor all interfaces with Class Society and Clients to ensure requirements are properly addressed and relevant documents are reviewed timely 7.5. Manage the interfaces with Vendor, Subcontractors and third party consultants and ensure relevant documents are reviewed timely and thoroughly The measure of your effectiveness in this will be: • Demonstrated effective interfaces within and across-disciplines • Timely closure of interface issues
