AXA XL Risk Consulting, a global business unit of AXA XL, offers customized risk management solutions and consulting services to understand and quantify the risks each company faces today or may face in the future. We help clients avoid preventable losses and minimize the impacts of events beyond their control.

Our clients operate in different facilities in a variety of locations globally. At AXA XL, we help clients create a comprehensive overview of the risks they are facing at corporate level, with details on exposures and constraints they might encounter locally, at site level. We are there to identify how these risks fit into their corporate risk management strategy and support them to determine and prioritize investments needed to control these risks.

As part of our AXA XL 2026 Ambition, we want to further grow our Environmental Impairment Liability (EIL) book of business in APAC & Europe. Given the growing competition in this market, increasing needs of our clients to get value beyond the policy, better understand and quantify their risk exposure and respect their ESG regulatory requirements, we want to develop a suite of value-added Environmental Consultancy Services for our AXA XL Insured Clients, at either pre-event (prevention services) or post-event phases. That suite of services will rely on both strong risk analytics and in-depth risk engineering expertise.

We are looking for the APAC & Europe Environmental & ESG Risk Consulting Product Leader in Paris to further develop and deploy in targeted markets that suite of specialized Risk Consulting services. You will directly report to the Risk Consulting Head of APAC & Europe. As this is a regional role, there will be business travel mainly in Europe.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

· Define the Environmental & ESG Risk Consulting servicing strategy in collaboration with the:

- APAC & Europe Risk Consulting Head

- APAC & Europe Casualty & Environmental Chief Underwriting Officer

- APAC & Europe Environmental Regional Product Leader

- APAC & Europe Environmental Underwriting community

- Environmental Risk Consulting experts across the APAC & Europe region

· Build a strongly differentiating servicing value proposition for Environmental Underwriters (support at pre-binding underwriting stage), relying on (and continue developing) existing risk assessment tools and risk engineering practices. We notably want to further move from empirical to quantitative Environmental risk rating practices based on data and technology.

· Build differentiating Environmental Consultancy Services for AXA XL Insured Clients and Prospects in line with our AXA XL insurance positioning (pre-event / prevention and post-event services), relying on both internal Risk Consulting experts and a panel of specialized providers and/or servicing companies (as for instance CEDRE in France). Below are some examples of existing services:

- Sites Portfolio Environmental Risk Analysis: thanks to our environmental sensitivity high-resolution maps, we help our clients to quickly assess potential exposure to Environmental risks of their large portfolio of assets. This enables our clients to get a whole risk understanding at account and site level and focus their prevention efforts on most sensitive locations.

- Remote Site Environmental Risk Analysis: thanks to our digitalized risk engineering platform Risk Scanning, we capture site-specific risk data and information to specify the site risk assessment and exposure given hazards related to its activity and surroundings, and we provide risk prevention recommendations.

- Environmental Specialized Site Survey: for the most exposed, valuable, and sensitive locations, we send specialized Environmental Risk Consultants to conduct in-depth physical site-specific risk analysis to identify any potential plant’s vulnerabilities, define loss scenarios, provide detailed risk analysis, and risk prevention and protection measures to reduce severity and probability of Environmental risks. This is then documented into a survey report.

- 24/7 emergency response spill: we want our clients to be continuously informed on potential events which could impact their site, and to trigger a pollution alert if they are effectively impacted by any event which might affect their facility. AXA XL would be there to better mitigate any potential regulatory requirements and/or reputational damage and accompany claimed clients within their loss experience, precisely assess their environmental damage and/or business interruption, and potential damage to third parties.

· Support the APAC & Europe Environmental Underwriting Community, Account Managers and Client & Distribution Leaders on their client retention and acquisition efforts, relying on our Risk Consulting servicing proposition.

· Engage with clients, advise them, and support their Environmental risk prevention efforts. We expect the Product Leader to also deploy some Risk Consulting services operationally for AXA XL Insured Clients and Prospects. He/she will be supported by our network of specialized Environmental Risk Consultants spread across France, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, and Asia & Pacific.

· Lead the Risk Consulting ESG project which aims at developing risk rating methodology at location level.

· Support the development roadmap of the Digitalized Commercial Platform (DCP) on Environmental & ESG (building of digitalized solutions for clients across all industries, ecosystem of specialized servicing partners suiting the AXA XL clients’ needs).

· Develop relevant marketing & communication materials and ensure strong market adoption across the APAC & Europe region (including awareness and training actions of client facing resources), with the support of the marketing teams of AXA XL APAC & Europe and the DCP.

SHARE your talent

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

· Environmental engineering qualification or equivalent

· Technical experience in Environmental Consulting for Large and Corporate businesses (including field consulting experience, compliance phase 1&2 audit / due diligence).

· Proven track record in Environmental client support, including commercial skills, and ability to define and operationally deploy client risk engineering programs at both corporate and location level.

· Organizational and delivery skills with the ability to schedule and deliver on time and on budget the expected quality of client service and deliverables.

· Market relationship building, ability to market our AXA XL Risk Consulting value proposition, and further educate the market on Environmental and ESG related risks.

· Strategic and innovative thinking, market knowledge of existing Environmental and ESG Consulting services, and ability to advise executives.

· Agility in navigating into a complex matrix organisation, within AXA XL Risk Consulting and within broader AXA XL Insurance.

· Keen written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to implement process optimization and change management in an international environment.

· Understanding of underwriting processes and data needs would be a plus.

· Advanced/Fluent English level is required.
