A pioneering company in the field of Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology is dedicated to developing scalable and energy-efficient solutions for carbon removal.
Utilizing a novel hybrid electrochemical process that integrates low-grade heat sources, the company significantly reduces energy consumption and costs compared to traditional DAC methods.
The company's mission is to tackle climate change by removing a billion tons of CO2 by 2050 through the most energy-efficient DAC technology available.
Role Overview:
The Junior Process Engineer will support the Senior Process Engineer in advancing the engineering developments needed to increase the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of the DAC technology.
The role involves contributing to the pilot FEED study for a 1-tonne/day pilot plant, collaborating with external companies, and working closely with the Senior Process Engineer and CTO on the industrialization strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the FEED study for the pilot, including the production of PFD, P&ID, pilot sketch, and equipment nomenclature.
- Size and define equipment specifications, send inquiries to suppliers, and perform quotation and technical documentation analysis.
- Coordinate with external engineering contractors for the pilot assembly.
- Lead the development of the model for the complete process in collaboration with the R&D team, including the transfer to dedicated process software (e.g., AspenPlus).
- Contribute to the process scale-up strategy and secure techno-economic assessments at an industrial scale.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience in process engineering, preferably in the oil & gas, water treatment, hydrogen/green hydrogen, or biogas sectors.
- Familiarity with modeling tools such as AspenPlus is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong enthusiasm for the company's mission of capturing CO2 and mitigating climate change.
- Willingness to take risks and embrace the dynamic environment of a startup.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Proficiency in English; French is not required.
