Category Buyer GENEX & ICT (f/m/d)

Job Mission:

The Category Buyer is an expert in the categories they are responsible for. They plan and lead category initiatives across all BU’s. This position organizes, leads and follows the Category processes, benchmarks, market evolutions, trends, cost-build-up including leading proactive sourcing projects, specification definition and demand management activities, as well as managing supplier performance and innovation activities as defined in Supplier Performance & Innovation Framework on Cost – Value – Risk.

Your Responsibilities:

• Plays a role in assisting in the delivery of cross-BU-level targets following agreement in the target setting process
• Supports the Category Manager for the definition and the application of the strategy of the category; the sourcing of suppliers; the analysis of the market; and the management of the internal business data and information for the relevant categories at a cross-BU level as agreed with the Corporate Procurement Manager
• Supports project plans to ensure the projects agreed with the Corporate Category Manager and the local purchasers of these categories are executed on a timely basis in line with the targeted goals and that the identified savings are delivered on a cost-value-risk base
• Supports and prepares contract creation, SLA’s, supplier management, contract management
• Accountable for proactively escalating any known risks, issues or values to the Corporate Category Manager, local purchasers and/or local management to ensure required support for resolution after having looked for solutions or opportunities with the business partners
• Responsible for the creation, application and completion of contracts for the categories across BU’s
• Responsible for providing regular input and reviewing the value creation, cost improvements and risk diminishing targets (SLA’s) with the suppliers across BU’s
• Responsible for the strict follow-up of the tactical sourcing process: specs, Request for Value, Request for Quotation, Contracts, Supplier Management
• Prepares a sound negotiation and works cross-functional on this

Your Profile:

• University degree in business education or equivalent by experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience within procurement
• Experience in different industries
• Negotiation skills and analytical abilities
• Knowledge in supplier management and contract negotiation
• Strong communication skills and teamwork
• Proficient knowledge in the use of MS Office package
• English professional level (speaking and writing); French and/or German are desireable
