This group focuses on building and scaling <b>secure, resilient backend systems</b> that power <b>E/M commerce, in-store payment solutions, and dispute management</b> in a regulated fintech environment.</p>
<p><b>About the team</b></p>
<p>You’ll be part of a <b>fully remote Pan-European Product and Engineering team</b> operating in an Agile environment. You will manage experienced <b>Engineering Managers</b>, each leading cross‑functional teams with experts in <b>Product Design, iOS Development, Android Development, and Backend Engineering</b>, distributed across Germany, France, the Netherlands, Poland, and other European locations. You will report directly to the <b>CPTO</b> and take ownership of the <b>Commercial Payments domain</b>, driving innovation and scalability for core payment services and future value‑added solutions.</p>

<li>Define and execute the <b>technical strategy</b> for Commercial Payments, ensuring alignment with company goals and platform architecture</li>
<li>Partner with <b>Product Management, Design, and other Engineering domains</b> to deliver impactful, customer‑centric solutions</li>
<li>Collaborate with <b>Compliance, Security, and Risk</b> teams to ensure all solutions meet regulatory and operational requirements</li>
<li>Represent engineering in external engagements with <b>customers, partners, and auditors</b> within a regulated fintech environment</li>
<li>Drive <b>cross‑domain architectural decisions</b>, shared services, APIs, and platform strategy</li>
<li>Lead, coach, and develop <b>Engineering Managers and senior technical talent</b>, creating clear growth paths and fostering a feedback‑driven culture</li>
<li>Promote <b>diversity, psychological safety, and resilience</b> within teams, ensuring a healthy balance between innovation and sustainable delivery</li>
<li>Build <b>high‑performing, autonomous Agile teams</b> that adapt quickly to changing business needs</li>
<li>Identify and address skill gaps to prepare teams for future growth and evolving technologies</li>

<p><b>To succeed, you should meet at least 70% of these requirements</b></p>
<ul>
<li><b>10+ years of software engineering experience</b>, including <b>3+ years in leadership roles</b> (Head of Engineering, VP Engineering, Director, etc.)</li>
<li>Proven success leading <b>multiple Agile teams</b> or an entire product domain in <b>fintech or regulated industries</b></li>
<li>Strong track record of building <b>scalable products</b>, driving organizational change, and improving engineering productivity</li>
<li>Experience collaborating with <b>executive leadership</b> and influencing company‑wide technology strategy</li>
<li>Deep understanding of <b>payment systems, transaction processing</b>, and/or other fintech domains in regulated environments</li>
<li>Experience building and operating systems that handle <b>financial data with high reliability, security, and compliance</b></li>
<li>Ability to balance <b>innovation with risk management</b>, ensuring technical decisions meet both customer and regulatory expectations</li>
<li>Fluency in English (CEFR level C1 or C2); proficiency in additional European languages such as French, German, or
