For an International Institution in Strasbourg, we are urgently looking for a Senior Cisco Network Engineer with experience in complex high available infrastructures for the region of Strasbourg.


Candidates need to be based in Strasbourg or willing to relocate to Strasbourg. Workpermit is required, but not provided.


This position is open for contractors, who would like to commit long-term.


Tasks and Responsibilities:

Construct and maintain configurations for data networks;

Design, test and install network software and hardware;

Perform troubleshooting of network problems utilizing network analysers and/or sniffers and other troubleshooting tools;

Deal with network related documentation (develop/update/review) and technical specifications;

Configure and implement network monitoring and management systems;

Implement and monitor network security;

Plan network capacity/estimate network utilisation;


Profile:

  • Bachelor or Master degree;
  • 9 years of relevant Network Engineering experience;
  • DNS and IP administration;
  • Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI);
  • Firewalls;
  • LAN protocols (Spanning Tree Protocol and/or VLAN trunking);
  • TCP/IP, RIP, OSF, BGP and/or EIGRP;
  • WAN network topologies and hardware (MPLS, Private Line);
  • Network Management tools (IXIA, netflow);
  • Advanced knowledge of Local and Wide Area Networks (LAN/WAN) principles, practices, and procedures;
  • Expertise in network configurations, including Internet-Protocol based LAN/WAN administration. Familiarity with Cisco ACI is a plus;
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers. Experience with Cisco, Stonegate, and F5 products is advantageous;
  • Strong understanding of network troubleshooting, covering DNS, VLAN, IP routing, LAN, WAN, and Site-to-Site VPN;
  • Capability to conduct network capacity planning to ensure optimal performance;
  • Very good grasp of network security principles and the management of security devices;
  • Proficient in encryption protocols such as SSL/TLS, IPSEC, etc;
  • Advanced knowledge of load balancing, firewalls, switches (L2/L3), redundancy, and IP addressing.
  • Experience in network devices installation, deployment, and configuration backup and recovery.
  • Ability to create, update, and review documentation and technical specifications related to network infrastructures;
  • Expertise in network design, capacity planning, evolution, and monitoring.
  • Understanding of common network topologies and cabling technologies and standards (fiber/copper, Ethernet, etc.);
  • Advantageous to possess network certifications (e.g., Cisco Certified Network Professional/CCNP) and IT Service Management qualifications (e.g., ITIL, ISO/IEC 20000);
  • Good command of English language;
