Vice President of Purchasing

Our Client is a leading Industrial manufacturing business we're supporting them in their confidential search for a VP of Purchasing.
Your Main Responsibilities:
- Create and execute procurement strategies with an emphasis on efficiency, quality, and cost reduction that are in line with the business goals and objectives of the organisation.
- Manage the whole supply chain process, including contract negotiations, inventory control, logistics planning, and supplier selection.
- Establish and preserve a solid rapport with important suppliers to guarantee the best conditions and to promote collaborations that increase value and innovation.
- Oversee and guide a group of procurement specialists, encouraging a culture of excellence, cooperation, and ongoing development.
- Determine and reduce supply chain risks to maintain supply continuity and reduce the possibility of interruptions.
- Create and oversee the purchasing department's budget, making sure it is economical and that financial goals are met.
- Lead efforts to enhance procurement procedures, methods, and technologies to keep the business adaptable and competitive in the marketplace.
- Make sure that all purchase actions adhere to the company's policies, industry rules, and moral principles.
Your Qualifications and Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, business administration, supply chain management, or a similar discipline. An MBA or a comparable advanced degree is recommended.
- A minimum of ten years' experience in procurement, at least five of which must have been spent in a leadership capacity in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- A track record of successfully creating and implementing procurement strategies in a demanding, complex industrial environment.
- Effective negotiating abilities that enable the establishment of long-term alliances and favourable terms.
- Thorough understanding of industry best practices, sourcing techniques, and supply chain management principles.
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and leadership abilities, with the capacity to motivate and impact change throughout the company.
- Expertise with ERP and procurement software.
