The Foundation is currently recruiting a Programmes Lead to develop and drive the selection of bold and scalable programmes, projects and grant making opportunities in line with the Foundation’s mission and strategy. As a key addition to the founding team, the role offers a hands-on opportunity to build and direct innovative impact programmes within an ambitious Foundation poised for significant growth.
The role
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Programmes Lead will:
- Proactively drive the identification, definition and development of market-based programmes aligned with the Foundation’s mission and objectives.
- Manage the Foundation’s grant portfolio, including evaluating requests, preparing proposals for approval and assessing the progress of grant recipients.
- Nurture relationships with the Foundation’s grantees and key partners, staying abreast of emerging best practices and relevant trends.
- Act as a thought partner to the Managing Director on new programmes and ideas.
- Develop an appropriate M&E framework for programmes and grantee projects, in collaboration with the Operations Lead, and contribute to the Foundation’s impact analysis and reporting.
- Regularly update the Managing Director on progress and provide input as part of quarterly reporting to the Board of Trustees.
- Work with fundraising colleagues and consultants to prepare tailored proposals for funders.
- Shape and grow the Programmes function into a creative, resourceful and outcomes-oriented team.
- Collaborate with ICC teams on project sourcing and thought leadership to advance the Foundation’s strategy.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in a relevant field, including public policy, international affairs, business administration and economics.
- 8+ years in managerial programme or grant making positions within the nonprofit, philanthropic and/or private sectors.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with excellent project management, communication and presentation skills.
- Self-starter with a creative mindset and a strong aptitude for translating strategy into actionable priorities.
- Comfortable working with data to inform programme design and assess performance, turning analysis into strategic recommendations.
- Persevering attitude to drive outcomes as the Foundation evolves.
- Knowledge of changing expectations from corporate and HNWI funders and trends in private philanthropy.
- Ability to work with autonomy in a lean and entrepreneurial organisation.
- Fluent in English. A working knowledge of French would be a plus.
