Quantitative Developer

I am working on a role with a global quantitative and systematic hedge fund who are looking for a Quantitative Developer to join their team in Paris to work closely with trading and research functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing ETL pipelines to seamlessly integrate and rigorously test extensive alternative datasets for the Commodities desk, collaborating closely with quant researchers and data engineering teams.
- Architecting, deploying, and overseeing cloud-based systems tailored for storing and exploring large-scale alternative datasets, in partnership with the AWS infrastructure team.
- Monitoring, supporting, debugging, and enhancing existing Commodities trading and research infrastructure, working hand-in-hand with Researchers and Support Engineers.
Ideal Candidate:
- Proficient in Python, with a focus on leveraging numerical libraries like numpy, pandas, and matplotlib.
- Possessing foundational knowledge of AWS and databases, including SQL.
- Adhering to development best practices such as version control with Git and unit testing.
- Approaching challenges with a quantitative mindset and fostering a collaborative team spirit.
Nice to have:
- Experience in creating dashboards or utilizing data visualization software like Tableau or Dash.
- Advanced proficiency in AWS services such as DynamoDB, RDS, S3, Lambda, and AWS CDK.
- In-depth understanding of database concepts, including query optimization and relational versus non-relational databases.
- Familiarity with parallel computation techniques.
- Exposure to handling geographic data using tools like geopandas and xarray.
- While not mandatory, possessing financial knowledge is considered advantageous.
