Job Description : We are looking for a dynamic leader to join a global activity at our client, the Saft Group, in Bordeaux, on the Group's global research center, as Global Process and Methods Manager responsible for leading and developing a new team dedicated to innovative and/or advanced projects & technologies, for manufacturing, from process development to process engineering, from modeling to prototype, up to the pilot / production line in the field of battery cell manufacturing.
This role involves close management with human-sized teams in collaboration with technical experts and the central technical management in order to define technical and technological choices and orientations, Process & Manufacturing. Success in this role will be measured by the implementation of innovative technologies in our next-generation battery factories around the world.
Responsibilities, not limited to:
Design, implement and optimize the entire battery cell production process, starting with chemistry/ electro chemistry , coating …including electrode manufacturing, cell assembly, up to testing, ... in the Lab then on the prototype lines to end with a robustproduction line and efficient manufacturing process for best operation profitability
Develop and maintain robust standard operating procedures, process control plans and quality systems such as P-FMEA, ... to ensure quality and consistency of production
Analyze process performance indicators to identify opportunities for improving quality, efficiency and profitability, for continuous improvement and define the best standards
Collaborate with technical teams in cell development, R&D and innovation, ... in physical sciences, materials, chemistry, electrical, mechanical, quality ... to implement process / product developments and improvements related to technological and scientific aspects, design, measured performance …
Manage & coach, encourage & support the technical team for continuous skills improvement and professional development at the highest level
Collaborate with the industrialization team to properly integrate innovative technologies and optimize production flows in terms of resources, equipment & automation.
Ensure compliance with deliverables and deadlines for innovations in the process stages… mixing, coating, cell assembly, electrolyte filling, testing, aging, etc., without forgetting compliance, HSE, and environmental issues at each stage
Collaborate with the Product & Business teams, customers & markets, and the Executive Team to anticipate global market trends and technically meet the expected needs through fair and efficient plans/roadmaps

Profile, not limited to:
Bachelor or Master, typically “mechanical, chemical, Physics , materials …industrial, manufacturing, electrical… engineering” or university degree in science, Physics, Chemistry, etc. …
PHD applied to the fields of energy storage, battery cell, or process mixing, coating, welding, sealing, testing, etc… welcome
Strong interest / motivation /passion for technology and innovation
Interest in new energies and associated technologies : energy storage, grid batteries , various cell solutions ,… or similar
Experience in managing complex industrial operations, process & technology, innovation & manufacturing engineering for the production of battery cells, Lithium-ion manufacturing preferably
Experience in process design, methods and/or equipment engineering in a field of battery manufacturing or similar, mixing, coating / inking / printing / surface finishing, welding, sealing, testing …
Knowledge of manufacturing standards & methods, process and quality standards, FMEA,… Lean tools, six sigma, 5S … HSE, health and safety policies…
Knowledge of production management tools and other tools related to the type 4.0 factory is a plus
Experience in direct management of technical teams , engineers , specialists … size 10+
Team player at all level and with most functions locally and globally
Participative leadership with the ability to share a clear vision
Entrepreneurial culture, proactive and autonomous in a given framework
Comfortable in project mode in a context global
Willingness to work in a dynamic and responsive environment, focused on innovation and which gives itself the means to move forward
Fluent English, working language on the global perimeter ; french language needed , at least conversational level
The position is full time based in Nouvelle Aquitaine - Bordeaux – France ; commuting open according to your organization
