The Laboratoire National de Santé (LNS) is recruiting a medical geneticist specialized in clinical oncogenetics for a full-time position (40 h / week), on a permanent contract, to complete its clinical genetics team at the Centre National de Génétique.The LNS is a major player in Luxembourg's healthcare sector, serving the country's patients, doctors and hospitals. Under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and Social Security, the LNS is a multidisciplinary public institution organized around six medical departments, two of which are designated as national diagnostic centers for human genetics and pathology respectively.The main purpose of the LNS is to develop analytical activities and scientific expertise relating to the prevention, diagnosis and monitoring of human diseases; The LNS also collaborates with the University of Luxembourg and other biomedical research institutions, both nationally and internationally, on research and teaching activities.In particular, in the field of diagnostics, the LNS covers the following fields of application : medical biology, microbiology, forensic medicine, environmental medicine, morphological and molecular pathology, and clinical genetics, as well as sequencing for rare diseases, oncology and pathogens.The Clinical Genetics Department employs 4 full-time geneticists, four part-time physicians, a physician in the process of specialization, a genetic counselor and a nurse, providing expertise in all areas of human genetics (rare diseases, oncogenetics), prenatal, pediatric and adult. The clinical genetics department works in close collaboration with other NCG departments, in particular with privileged access to the national pathology center, as well as with other healthcare players in Luxembourg, notably the various departments of the Centre Hospitalier du Luxembourg, the Centre Hospitalier du Nord, … The NCG's clinical constitutional oncogenetics activity includes all areas of adult and pediatric oncogenetics and all hereditary predispositions to breast and ovarian cancer, digestive cancers, kidney cancer, prostate cancer and endocrine tumors.MAIN TASKS :The oncogenetics activity needs to be strengthened by the recruitment of a full-time clinical oncogeneticist, in order to meet the following objectives in particular :Participate in oncogenetics working groups within national public health programs and working groups (e.g. Proficiency in one of the national languages (Luxembourgish, German, French) is mandatory. Excellent written and spoken English skills (minimum B2) are essential.At the final stages of the recruitment process, the successful candidate will be asked to provide supporting documentation such as, copies of diplomas and certificates of employment.
