We continually pioneering innovations and showing what can be achieved when we combine performance with purpose, achieving the highest B Corp score among global food businesses.We're on a mission to reform the industry from soil to table, offering food that not only tastes good but also does good for our planet and all its inhabitants.We have offices, people and factories across 7 key countries, and our products can be found in more than 90 countries all over the world, with over 15 leading and purposeful brands (Bjorg, Bonneterre, Clipper, ... ) that are over 80% organic, 95% vegetarian and all GMO free.The Packaging Category Manager h/f will be a key part of Ecotone R&D, reporting to the R&D Director Europe and working in close cooperation with the ECT managers based in different locations.He/She will be responsible for proposing and implementing new packaging to core categories products to add value, differentiation and reduce the environmental impact.In addition, he/she will be responsible for ensuring the packaging specifications quality in the system to provide all the technical information required by the business.Role & ResponsibilitiesDrive and monitor the sustainable packaging strategy for the group.Develop and propose innovative packaging concepts to marketing ECTs, contributing to the overall innovation plan.Identify and execute cost-saving opportunities within the existing packaging portfolio.Ensure technological monitoring (products, materials, regulations) in order to propose innovative solutions that meet industrialization constraints.Oversee the implementation of new packaging solutions for core product categories.Manage packaging projects from idea through to first production, either in-house or with third-party manufacturers, supporting production sites during the testing and trial phases on the lines.Data compliance & reportingSupport the packaging specifications (PCK) system, ensuring regulatory compliance; train & support the R&D community for data maintenance.Support the enforcement of packaging policies and monitor performance through KPI reporting.Analyse the carbon footprint of Ecotone packaging and lead initiatives to achieve reductions.EducationDegrees in packaging and/or food engineering.Pack Office Intermediate/advanced level.Fluent in English and French.Packaging development (preferably for food) experience of minimum 10 years.Factory packaging experience.A blend of creativity and pragmatism, with the ability to think innovatively while delivering practical solutions.Demonstrates strong leadership, inspiring and guiding teams effectively.Takes ownership and personal responsibility for achieving goals.Highly customer-focused, ensuring a deep understanding of and alignment with customer needs.Communicates with clarity and simplicity, using a straightforward, factual approach.Resilient and resourceful, overcoming obstacles and developing effective solutions.Brings an international perspective and thrives in a matrixed, multicultural work environment.Why Ecotone?For our mission "Food for biodiversity": meaning protect, grow, cherish the biodiversity by offering diverse, organic and plant-based food.For our brands and delicious products: being in 1 of 2 homes helps to transform our food system for the better.For our B Corp score: 116.5 points, it is not nothing (and actually very high).To join a Great Place to Work.For our internal job opportunities.For our European and international culture.And a lot of other reasons: discount on our products, sport classes, conferences, reimbursement 70% of public transportation pass, lunch 60% contributions from employer.Our headquarters is accessible by public transport (15 min walk from the "Saint Genis Laval Hôpital Lyon Sud" metro stop).Ecotone is committed to creating a diverse, inclusive and equitable environment for all.
