By combining the precision of search with the creativity of AI, we're redefining how users interact with information. Our team consists of engineers (partly remote in Europe timezone, partly working in our Paris office), and we bring together a variety of skills and backgrounds. Your role will consist of:Defining the overall technical direction and strategy for your teamMentoring and nurturing front and back software engineers and machine learning engineers, helping them grow in their careerBeing responsible for technical decisions taken by the teamWorking alongside the engineers to design and implement monitoring and alerting to ensure high availability, performance and reliability of your team's servicesImproving engineering quality, processes and toolingCollaborating with product managers and designers to help define the team roadmap (we follow a bottom-up approach)Interfacing with a wide range of teams to build and evangelize a solid growth foundationYou might be a fit if you:Have 2+ years of engineering management experience and 5+ years of engineering experienceAre an excellent communicator able to translate product requirements into technical tasks and vice-versaHave a mindset to take data driven decisions and analyzing impact of the changes you introduceAre fluent in Agile methodology and can lead a project from the idea to productionHave worked on AI software solutions in the pastNice to have:You have knowledge about challenges associated to running APIs & idempotent data processing pipelines at scaleYou have experience with Python, Go & GCPAre capable of jumping in the trenches with the engineers — coding, managing incidents, handling on-callFLEXIBLE WORKPLACE STRATEGY:While we have a global presence with physical offices in Paris, NYC, London, Sydney and Bucharest, we also offer many of our team members the option to work remotely either as fully remote or hybrid-remote employees.ABOUT US:Algolia prides itself on being a pioneer and market leader offering an AI Search solution that empowers 17,000+ businesses to compose customer experiences at internet scale that predict what their users want with blazing fast search and web browse experience.Algolia is part of a cadre of innovative new companies that are driving the next generation of software development, creating APIs that make developers' lives easier;
