Position Duties

For on-going and unannounced projects, we are looking for a developer who is motivated by versatile missions centered around animation processing or integration of cutting-edge technologies essentially on Unreal Engine 5 for AA or AAA games on PC, Xbox Series or PlayStation 5, and who can cover a wider scope if needed, including the development of game systems, implementation, analysis and performance optimization or the integration of third-party technologies.

Responsibilities:

- Analyse the needs of animators in order to streamline their tool chain from animation production to integration and execution in game.
- Analyse the game designers' requests, and iterate with them, in order to implement the different states and transitions of animations associated with the gameplay mechanisms developed, from the prototype to the polishing, and resulting in a fun and striking result while being robust and performing.
- Participate in the technical architecture defined by the lead developer and the technical director.
- Develop any tools and functions associated with the processing of animations, in order to expose to the animators and game designers the parameters and events to be tuned.
- Collaborate with other team members and other development, art or production teams, local or remote.
- Make propositions to improve existing functionalities, for the sake of the final quality of the game.
- Deliver a clean, clearly commented and structured code, in respect of the suitable conditions of performance and reliability.
- Integrate in game when necessary, any delivered asset (characters, environments, props, animations, cut-scenes, UIs, sounds, special effects, etc.).
- Analyse and fix bugs identified in the source code (even if written by other developers).
- Track performance or memory troubles (if any) and solve them by bringing appropriate optimizations.
- Make sure the final results fit the expected quality.
- Do reporting according to deadlines, as well as provide any necessary relevant information, which might be needed for efficient use
- When necessary, write a technical document explaining the developed or studied system.

Must have qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience as a programmer in the video game or multimedia industry, or beginner with relevant school projects.
- Proven experience with Unreal Engine in gameplay programming or game system development.
- Proficiency in C++ and object-oriented programming.
- Excellent understanding of the code impact on performance and memory utilization.
- Autonomous and proactive personality
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as good level of English both written and spoken

Nice to have qualifications
- Credited in one or several released games.
- Experience in developing heroes or AI associated with characters.
- A strong interest for animation programming.
