Ipsen is advancing with highly promising developments in Rare Liver Diseases (lead indication: Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC)). As part of the rare diseases team, the GMA Director will act as the Medical Affairs Asset Lead to ensure strategic design and operational excellence in execution of global medical affairs programs with a core focus on driving the global integrated evidence generation activities and medical access, and will be a core member of the Global Asset Team that successfully defines and delivers the integrated asset strategy and plan, which will include development, regulatory, and commercialization plans. In this key leadership role, the GMA Director will collaborate in a matrix environment with a broad range of leaders from other divisions, enabling functions to align strategies, deliverables, and resources. Knowledge expert and ambassador for Medical Affairs internally and externally, with representatives from the patients and scientific community.

**Main responsibilities / job expectations**

Represent GMA as the Asset Medical Affairs Lead within the Asset Team and Lead relevant Asset sub-teams
- Be the scientific and clinical expert in the specific therapeutic area, including deep knowledge of the patient journey, relevant guidelines, medical literature, and asset/competitor’s data.
- Actively contribute, as part of the Asset Team, to the product development, commercialization strategy and lifecycle management
- Co-lead the Global Brand Team and drive the design and execution of the integrated Global Brand Plan
- Lead the Medical Affairs Sub-team to ensure aligned strategy and coordinated product launch across countries/regions
- Drive, in collaboration with relevant medical excellence leads, the Asset publications, medical communication, medical information, scientific and patient engagement strategy
- Accountable for the overall medical budget management and reporting to the Asset Team
- The Asset Medical Lead will also be a key member of alliance meetings and working groups with our in-licensing partner.

Drive the development of the Asset Integrated Evidence Generation Strategy
- Design, communicate and ensure execution of Annual Evidence Generation Plan based on data gaps analysis, internal and external insights
- Develop and implement Real-World Data strategy and other evidence generation opportunities, including post-approval studies in collaboration with global drug development, clinical operations, HEOR, country medical directors and the cross-functional teams
- Define clear guidelines for local medical functions to design local company sponsored studies (CSS) and assess investigator sponsored studies (ISS)

Lead the development of the Medical Access Strategy and drive its execution
- Ensure that key insights / analyses, opportunities, and commercialization challenges are used to design the Asset Medical Access Strategy and drive its execution, in collaboration with clinical operations, country medical directors and the cross-functional teams

**Experience / Qualifications / Competencies**
- MD, PharmD, PhD or equivalent scientific degree
- A minimum of 5 years of Global Medical Affairs experience within the Pharmaceutical/ Biotech Industry.
- Prior or relative work in either the clinical or industry settings involving Liver Disease Hepatology or Gastroenterology would be highly beneficial
- Demonstrable experience leading evidence generation projects on an international scale.
- Proactive leadership style and outcomes/results orientation
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed and multinational environment.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize and delegate work
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and influencing communication skills
