**Main Goal**:
The Scientific IT Director for Field Seeds and Vegetable Seeds R&D is part of the Limagrain IT community, which manages all Limagrain’s IT infrastructures worldwide. He reports to the Group CIO and works in close collaboration with the Field Seeds and Vegetable Seeds Research Departments, to be as close as possible to customer needs. More than 150 IT employees work in Limagrain’s 13 Business Units, including nearly 100 in Auvergne, France, the birthplace of Limagrain and the headquarters of the parent company.

The Scientific IT Director for Field Seeds and Vegetable Seeds R&D is responsible for the development, maintenance, and user support of the Scientific Information System (SIS), dedicated to all of Groupe Limagrain's plant breeding activities. The Scientific Information System includes decision-making tools, operational tools, and research-specific computing infrastructures, some of which have been developed by specialized teams within research organizations. The scope is worldwide and covers all the crops worked by Groupe Limagrain.

**Job description**:
**THE JOB IN A FEW LINES**

Working with the Seed Research departments, you will contribute to the development of a master plan for the Scientific Information System, including a strong Data dimension, to support the strategies of the Research departments.

Within this framework, and in response to the needs expressed by Research, you will design and develop the overall architecture of the scientific information system and manage a portfolio of projects designed to give substance to this vision.

You will ensure good project governance through ad-hoc steering committees. The aim is to respond rapidly to the short
- and medium-term needs expressed by the research community.

**MORE CONCRETELY, WHAT WILL YOUR MISSIONS BE?**

In conjunction with the IT Research strategic committee, you will define the overall architecture of SIS Limagrain. You will draw up and update an SIS roadmap to effectively communicate and share the development and deployment stages of the Limagrain SIS.
- You will participate in steering committees for operational and decision-making projects.
- You will be responsible for a portfolio of development projects, adapting the resources to be mobilized and the project management method to the nature and scale of the project, and to the project owner (internal research customer).
- You will lead a team of project managers as well as the Competence Centre, ensuring that the various teams are aligned on common, shared objectives.
- You will contribute to the Group's forward-looking SIS strategy.

To carry out your mission, you will be supported by a team of project managers in charge of defining operational projects and integrating BI projects already developed by the Research teams, as well as by a Competence Center whose role is to build, maintain and support the appropriate solution, and train Research professionals in its use.

In addition to the Research Department at Group level, this key position within the Limagrain organization will require you to collaborate with departments or organizations as varied as specialized departments (biostatistics, bioinformatics, artificial vision, etc.), holding departments, some of Groupe Limagrain's partners, consulting and IT services companies, academic laboratories, etc.

**Profile**:
**WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED IN YOUR MISSION?**

With at least 5 years' scientific training, you have solid professional experience in IT development. During your career, you have had the opportunity to work operationally on scientific computing projects, ideally in a software publisher context. You are comfortable with Safe methodology. Your experience in structuring and analyzing IS databases, such as Datalake, will enable you to understand the context and challenges of SIS Limagrain. Ideally, you have knowledge of Artificial Intelligence.

Your analytical skills will enable you to understand the challenges and expectations of research and integrate them into an IT master plan. To this end, notions of Life Sciences will be useful. Recognized for your managerial skills, you can manage a team of 50 to 60 people, including external staff. Your ability to communicate effectively and adapt to your contacts will be a major asset.
