Human by nature.- We are seeking a Research Scientist with a background in process industrialization in extraction and purification of naturals to join our team in Natural Development based in Avignon (France). You will focus on the route selection and process development of novel natural ingredients for the food, flavor, and cosmetic industry.**Core Responsibilities**:

- Propose, design, and conduct experiments related to the extraction, separation, purification, and drying of novel natural extracts;
- Contribute to guide a sustainable approach by measuring our process footprint and proposing alternative technologies;
- Lead on projects, cross-regionally;
- Collaborate with cross-functional multinational teams (internal and external);
- Maintain all required experimental records and documentation in the company database software;
- Communicate with energy your results and provide recommendations in reports, presentations, and publications;
- Provide input and guidance to others regarding process and scalability;
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized lab environment following EH&S policies and good laboratory practices.

**Academic Background**:

- ABachelor, Master's degree, or a PhD in Organic Chemistry.

**Professional Experience**:

- Related experience of 6+ years would be considered a plus.

**Technical Skills**:

- Experience with scale-up and down scale of processes such as extraction, solid-liquid separation, purification, and gentle drying technologies for natural molecules;
- Experience with the extraction of botanicals is highly preferred;
- Experience with project management
- Familiarity with thermodynamics and analytical equipment/techniques such as GC, GC/MS, LC, LC/MS, and TLC;
- Hands-on attitude and a clear affinity with working in the lab;
- Self-motivated, creative, and flexible, and the ability to take initiative, manage priorities, and handle multiple projects simultaneously;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. French language skills or willingness to learn is mandatory;
- Skilled in literature searches related to extraction, and technologies of purification of chemical compounds;
- Good record-keeping skills and experience in designing experiments;
- Having an open mindset & being sociable;
- Proven ability to work with diverse, multidisciplinary teams to deliver project results on time.
