Due to our recent growth and expansion, GEMTEC is actively seeking a Senior Hydrologist / Hydrotechnical Engineer for our Fredericton office.

GEMTEC currently has an opening for a Senior Hydrotechnical Engineer in our Fredericton, NB office location. The position provides the opportunity to support and grow the existing Engineering Team within our Fredericton office. You will work with a team of engineers, as well as geoscientists, hydrogeologists, environmental scientists, and technicians, on a variety of projects.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage a team of technical staff,
- Provide technical expertise, direction and mentorship on complex hydrotechnical projects,
- Provide quality review of designs, proposals and reports,
- Manage client relationships and lead critical delivery meetings,
- Coordinate project managers and other discipline leads to manage project deliverables, ensure schedules and budgets are achieved,
- Identify and develop new business opportunities and support the preparation of corporate business development materials,
- Collaborate with other departments, environmental regulators and GEMTEC offices on project related work,
- Report to corporate management on project and financial performance.
- Participate in Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Initiatives and enforce Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines in the execution of all work, and
- Perform other related duties, as required.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Master’s Degree in Water Resources, Hydrology or Civil or other related discipline,
- 10 to 20 years of relevant experience,
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (required) and French (an asset),
- Demonstrated experience writing proposals, work plans and reports,
- Proficient in analytical and modelling techniques and thoroughly understand the hydrotechnical aspects of project development, design and operation,
- Proven project management skills with ability to track timelines, meet budgets and schedules,
- Software experience (or equivalent) in: (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, MIKE Flood, both steady-state and dynamic, including dam breach, ArcGIS and AutoCAD) is an asset,
- Previous consulting experience is an asset,
- Currently registered (or is eligible) with the Atlantic Professional Engineers Associations,
- Able to travel to project sites and spend time in the field, as needed.

- Full time
