Civil Technician

Due to our recent growth and expansion, GEMTEC is actively seeking a Civil Technician/Technologist in our Saint John, New Brunswick office.

GEMTEC is an employee-owned and operated engineering consulting company with offices and laboratories throughout Ontario and Atlantic Canada. We provide professional scientific and engineering consulting services to a wide variety of clients throughout Canada. The opportunity involves working as part of a team of engineers, scientists and technologists on a variety of projects for a range of public and private sector clients. This is a great opportunity for a motivated, energetic individual looking for a challenge in a dynamic work environment.

**Educational Requirements**:

- College Level Diploma is considered an asset
- Training in and experience with soils/materials testing and / or construction inspection is required
- Registered or eligible to become registered as a Civil Engineering Technologist (CET) or Professional Technologist (P.Tech.) is considered an asset.

**Main Duties**:

- Laboratory testing of aggregates, soil, concrete and asphalt
- Field testing and sampling of aggregates, soils, concrete, and asphalt
- Assisting with compiling reports.

**Experience and Skills**:

- 5+ years of experience in the engineering industry
- Experience working in a materials testing laboratory
- Experience with construction inspection for civil and site works
- Familiarity and experience with Asphalt testing, inspections, and mix designs
- Experience with topographic surveying will be considered an asset
- Organizational skills are a critical asset
- Other duties as required.

**Position**:

- Full time and seasonal positions are potentially available
