- As part of our ambitious growth strategy, we are looking to strengthen our Natural Colors Science & Technology team with a Color Scientist.- With a background and expertise in chemistry, you will be a key member of the color team. Your main responsibility will be to define and lead new research programs for the natural colors category, all the way to successful industrialization and commercialization.- You will be based in Avignon, France and you will report directly to the Category Technical Leader.**In this exciting role, you will**:

- Design and execute research projects according to the category innovation strategy
- Guide scientific understanding of technical challenges affecting natural colors performance (based on literature) and identify potential solutions to provide impactful innovation solutions to our customers globally
- Contribute to protect our innovation with patents
- Provide technical leadership within the color category; ensure validation of critical success criteria in collaboration with team members
- Maintain awareness of new methodologies and technologies relevant to natural colors and pigments
- Independently plan, organize, and implement complex technical projects to characterize and master pigment chemical pathways and identify novel ways to improve their stabilization.
- Lead on projects cross-functionally, cross-regionally, and globally within the global Science & Technology group
- Lead external collaboration projects with Universities or Industry partners

**Your professional profile includes**:

- Minimum four years of experience in chemistry, food science research, or industry
- Preferably Master (M2) or engineering degree in chemistry/plant chemistry or related field or PhD in chemistry
- Laboratory experimental skills
- Track record in guiding scientific innovation
- Fluency in English
- Can work on own projects and as part of a team
- Customer focus
- Experience with natural pigments (characterization, extraction, and formulations)
- Experience in the chemistry of caramel
- General knowledge of food manufacturing processes
