**Location**:Site-based
**Role**: Rotational 28/28 on a 24 month CDD with possibility of renewal/extension.
Assala Energy is a leading Oil and Gas Exploration and Production company with our operational assets based in Gabon. We are known for our commitment to operational excellence, safety, and environmental stewardship. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a highly experienced Maintenance Superintendent to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance activities of our assets including: turbo-machinery, rotating equipment, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and HVAC maintenance. You will plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance programs, manage maintenance contractors, and ensure compliance with all relevant HSE regulations and standards. Additionally, you will be responsible for optimizing maintenance strategies and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance asset reliability and reduce downtime.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead and supervise a team of maintenance personnel, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize asset reliability and minimize downtime.
- Oversee the planning and scheduling of all maintenance activities, ensuring resources are available and work is executed in a timely manner.
- Allocate resources and coordinate the day-to-day maintenance and workshop activities in accordantce with the IAP as directed by the OIM.
- Manage relationships with maintenance contractors and service providers, ensuring work is performed to the required standards and within budget.
- Monitor and analyze maintenance performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement appropriate actions.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable HSE regulations and standards, promoting a strong safety culture among maintenance personnel.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize maintenance strategies and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Ensure all data is entered in to SAP and that all maintenance& integrity related information is available, accurate and reported correctly
- Participate in root cause analysis and incident investigations, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in maintenance management within the Oil and Gas industry.
- Proven track record of successfully leading maintenance teams and delivering results.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance best practices, reliability engineering, and asset management principles.
- Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planning tools.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate a diverse workforce.
- Sound understanding of HSE regulations and standards.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in French is essential
- Willingness to travel to various sites as required.
