**Duties**:
The incumbent serves as a Class B Cashier at the American Embassy, Paris with an operating cash advance of up to $130,000 from the U.S Disbursing Officer (USDO) in Charleston. Works directly with the Deputy Financial Management Officer and locally employed Cash Verification Officer (CVO - Position N53214). The Class B Cashier is authorized to perform the full range of cashier functions, as detailed in 4 FAM 300 and more specifically in the official designation cable. The Cashier Section currently structured with two full-time cashiers and one alternate cashier, who divides their duties between the Voucher Section and Cashier Section. The incumbent provides full Class B Cashier services to both assigned and visiting personnel, as well as administering sound internal control over the physical custody and management of cash and cash instruments. There are currently 59 customer agencies who benefit from cashiering services at Post. The Cashier is responsible to verify all sub-cashiers' transactions across the diplomatic mission, including consulates and American Presence Posts. This position also supports VIP visits by issuing cash per diem.**Qualifications and Evaluations**:

**EXPERIENCE**:At least 2 years of experience as a commercial bank teller, cashier or in a job with substantial cash-handling elements, accountant, or financial analyst is required.
**JOB KNOWLEDGE**: Good knowledge of cash management and basic accounting.

**SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
Good knowledge of cash management and basic accounting.
Within first 6 months on the job, must be able to obtain a designated as Class B Cashier, including passing a formal exam.

**SALARY**: the **annual gross salary includes**: the profit-sharing allowance, the vacation allowance, the bonus allowance and the “Comité d’Entreprise” allowance.
**MEAL TICKETS**: Meal tickets have a face value of EUR 8.25/day. 60% of the daily amount is paid by the U.S. Government. An employee contribution of EUR 3.30 per ticket will be deducted in payroll. The number of meal tickets is limited to 202 workdays per year.
**TRANSPORTATION**:Employees are eligible for a reimbursement of 50% of the cost of public transportation passes purchased for commuting purposes.
**HOLIDAYS**: The U.S. Missions in France observe eleven U.S. holidays per year and up to ten French holidays.
**For EFMs**, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office

**This level of preference applies to all Foreign Service employees on LWOP and CS with re-employment rights back to their agency or bureau.
