**_Context:_**

The Commercial Expertise Center groups all sales functions of the organization, ca. 250 people across the world with one main mission : serve our clients developing solutions that fit their needs and bring value to ENGIE. The transversal team is in charge of defining and implementing process and standards to improve Commercial Excellence and Customer Focus.

As **Data scientist**, you will report to the Head of Commercial Oversight and Marketing. One of the key objectives for the department in 2023-24 is to leverage on all the available data and learn about customer behavior from it in order to boost sales and improve client knowledge. You will collaborate with the rest of the EC Commercial department to fulfill its missions and will be involved in projects involving data analytics.

**Role**:

- You will take inventory of available data, assess quality and reliability
- You will build models and perform analysis by cross referencing data from different sources to gain insights into customer behavior and value
- You will develop, improve and support business analysis models and reporting tools
- You will contribute to the digitization and data-driven decision making process of GEMS
- You will leverage complex data to provide insights to senior management
- You will interact with data and CRM experts, sharing models, new ideas, to leverage peer insights

**About YOU**

**Hard skills**
- You know how to model data
- You have demonstrated coding skills (Python, SQL, R or other) to develop standalone models
- You have initial experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools
- You master the Office 365 tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint...)
- If you have experience with data analysis tools (e.g. Dataiku or similar), data
- (e.g. AWS or similar), this is a plus

**Soft skills**
- You like teamwork
- You are curious and have a willingness to learn and know the business environment
- You are a critical thinker and enjoy working with numbers and data
- You have skills in facilitation, pragmatism, proactivity, initiative
- You are proactive ,

**Education and professional background**:

- You are a master's student in data science or another field that includes a significant aspect of data science.
- You have knowledge of energy markets is a plus
