Assistant Project Manager

**Job Overview**:
The role of the Assistant Project Manager is to ensure the successful delivery of Small Works and Projects from their initial inception through to handover and financial completion either on their own or in support of project managers. They will undertake the coordination of multiple project stakeholders, design consultants, principal contractor and security cleared Suppliers.

**Main Duties**:

- Ensure Projects run smoothly from start to finish by helping with the planning and execution.
- Assist Project Managers with large complex tasks, collaborate with other team members for guidance.
- Help communicate with stakeholders regarding project needs and goals.
- Contribute to the planning and development of projects assisting.
- Supporting the coordination and management of projects.
- Gather information, create files, ensure information is on the network.
- Provide a wide array of administrative and management tasks that assist the organisations Project Management Team.
- Provide clerical support to help Project Managers perform quickly and accurately.
- Follow up with the client and end user to understand their needs.
- Independently manage and monitor some project elements when required.
- Researching information.
- Completing tasks assigned by a Project Manager in a efficient and timely manner.
- Taking minutes during project meetings and disseminating.
- Assisting with resource procurement. Tracking materials for projects.
- Assisting with the development and implantation of projects including time, resource and process management.
- Communicating with Project Managers, clients and end users to maintain good relationships.
- Follow company commercial procedures across all project delivery.
- To understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time.
- To understand and comply with policies and procedures.
- To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner.
- To comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- To attend and fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required for Head of Projects role.
- To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required.

**What we are looking for**:

- Strong Client and Customer focus.
- Knowledge of, or be willing to learn internal and external management systems including Microsoft Office, and Excel.
- Able to demonstrate a good level of written and oral communication skills.
- Working towards a proven track record of achievement.
- Willingness to gain experience of coordinating and supervising Project Managers delivery across all service delivery areas.
- Able to work out of hours to support service delivery needs as necessary.

**Additional details**:
Mitie will pay a competitive salary, monthly site allowance and bonus. Hours of work are 47.5 per week. The contract duration is 27 months with 74 days leave excluding weekends. There will be an entitlement to the Ascension Island Bank Holidays. Flights will be arranged to and from Ascension Island for agreed holiday periods. The position is unaccompanied, single accommodation on Travellers Hill, 3 meals at the Combined Mess, all corporate work wear and PPE included. Must be capable of obtaining MoD basic level security clearance, evisa from the Ascension Government, be declared medically and dentally fit to work on Ascension Island.
