**Shift Electrician**

**Context**
Come and join one of our reactor shift teams (30 people divided into 6 teams of 5) within the Operations Service of the ILL’s Reactor Division. The shift teams are responsible for the safe functioning of the reactor installations and for ensuring compliance with the associated regulations.

**Your tasks**
Reporting to the team leader (shift leader), **you will perform the following duties**:

- Monitoring electrical installations directly related to reactor safety at voltages ranging from 12 V to 20 kV and on all generations of equipment (high-voltage units, MV cells, protection relays, transformers, LV switchboards, circuit breakers, etc.)
- Performing troubleshooting and corrective maintenance on installations with the help of electrical drawings and diagrams, taking into account the work environment and associated risks (safety, nuclear safety, environment, radiation protection)
- Performing safe shutdown operations (lockout-tagout)
- Preparing and conducting periodic testing and inspections
- Reporting and tracing any deviations observed
- Updating existing documentation.

The ability to analyse situations with a critical mind would be appreciated in order pursue the continuous improvement of the installation.

**Your profile**
- You have a Level 3/4/5 qualification (e.g. NVQ level 3, BTEC HNC/HND or equivalent) in a technical field such as **electrical engineering, industrial control and automatic regulation, electronics, automation, industrial maintenance** or equivalent.
- Five years of experience in electrical maintenance in an industrial or nuclear setting or equivalent is desirable.
- You are recognised for your meticulous approach (particularly in following instructions), adaptability, composure and ability to work within a regulatory framework.
- Our research institute is unique in the world, so you must have an appetite for learning new skills.
- A good sense of teamwork, with an ability to fit in, communicate and cooperate, is essential.
- A good level of English would be an advantage.

**Your working hours**
You will be required to work staggered hours (shifts of 12 hours 45 minutes in a team of 5 people), alternating day and night shifts, including weekends.
