**Postdoctoral Research Scientist - Pharmacokinetics/Pharmacodynamics modeling and simulation (M/F/d)**
For this project, you will join an interdisciplinary team composed of PBK experts, toxicologists, pathologists & molecular biologists and data scientists within the Toxicology department of Bayer CropScience in close collaboration with members of other international Bayer entities and academic institutions.
**YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
Instill exposure modeling consideration in the context of Next Generation Risk Assessment and novel approaches in mechanistic toxicology having the potential to reduce late-stage attrition through refinements within the existing regulatory framework:
- Develop quantitative AOP models within the context of Adverse Outcome Pathways (AOPs) in mammals to help in the development of NAMs (New Approach Methodologies) in toxicology
- Elaborate Physiologically-Based Kinetic/Dynamic (PBK/D) models to characterize the dose-response curves in several organs of interest considering also Micro Physiological Systems
- Work on quantitative in vitro-to-in vivo extrapolations (qIVIVE)
- Provide input for several experimental aspects such as : in vitro and/or in vivo study designs, safety endpoints, required model parameters, and timepoint measurements
- Review appropriate literature pertaining to current or proposed projects
- Present and communicate study findings, results, analyses, and future direction to project partners
- Independently plan, analyze, interpret your data analysis, set-up critical path and path-forward
- Communicate and report study findings, results, analyses, and future direction to project partners (to direct manager & collaborators)
- Actively collaborate with experienced Research Toxicologists to set up experiments and drive data analysis and interpretation
- Participate in project meetings and active scientific exchange with internal and external scientific communities
**WHO YOU ARE**
**Education**:
- MSc or PharmD / DVM / MD or Engineer (with / without PhD) with experience in Pharmacometrics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Mathematical Modeling of biological phenomena, Data Analysis, or another relevant Life Science discipline
- 2 years of experience in academic, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology settings.
**Skills**:
- Solid expertise in modeling and simulation: Physiologically-Based Kinetic/Dynamic (PBK/D) modeling required
- Experience with mechanistic TK/TD modeling (qAOP) awaited
- Broad understanding of physiology, biology and/or toxicology, and statistics
- Proficiency with PK-Sim® and R required, experience with other M&S software would be a plus
- Fluent in English (written and oral)
- Ability to work in teams across multiple regions (cultural awareness) and to work autonomously
- Lifelong learner with flexible and openminded spirit with the ability to migrate the existing environment towards novel approaches
- Accurate and precise worker with strong analytical and problem solving skills (creative, critical, out-of-the-box thinker)
- Strong personal organization skills are required
- Fluent verbal and written communication skills and proficient in English, basic knowledge of French is an advantage
Additional considerations:
- Experience with multi omics data sets such as transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics and phenomics toxicological data in the context of exposure modeling would be a plus
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and motivation to implement innovative scientific strategy and lab operations
- Ability to troubleshoot problems, and provide possible solutions
- Capable of conveying technical information in a clear and thorough manner
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
