EUROAPI is a new player in Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), carved out from Sanofi with the purpose of becoming a worldwide champion in API commercial and Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) activities.
Headquartered in Paris, Euroapi include 7 European API production sites located in Brindisi (Italy), Frankfurt & Gera (Germany), Haverhill (UK), St Aubin les Elbeuf (France), Budapest (Hungary) and Vertolaye (France).
Our Sales and CDMO teams are present in 11 countries to cover our customers in 80 countries.
We are looking for a Senior Business Development & Accounts Manager CDMO in Europe to contribute to the increase of EUROAPI CDMO turnover, in accordance with the business Plan. The Senior business Development & Accounts Manager will identify and follow relevant opportunities in process development, clinical supply and/or commercial supply aiming to fill production plants with active ingredients new projects and to enhance the visibility of EUROAPI CDMO within the global pharmaceutical world.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Prospection Activity:
- Approach identified potential customers, and establish good, trustful and long-term relationships
- Represent EUROAPI CDMO during external meetings or trade shows.
- Leveraging robust customer insights and staying at the forefront of industry trends to proactively shape the company’s service offerings, anticipating and meeting future market demands.
Acquisition of new projects:
- Promote CDMO EUROAPI’s capacities and capabilities
- Cultivating deep, trust-based relationships with clients by thoroughly understanding their unique needs, operational nuances, and customizing approaches to deliver exceptional value
- Ensure proper technical and economic analysis of new incoming CDMO requests via RFPs provided by the customer (Request for Proposal, Technical Package)
- Ensure and supervise preparation of commercial offer to external customer in close collaboration with business partners including Development and Industrial operations, Legal, Finance departments
- Supervise proper technical analysis through good collaboration with supporting departments to find a good alignment between customer needs and available technical potential.
- Build the commercial offer in close cooperation with EUROAPI internal business partners: Development and Industrial operations, Legal, Finance departments
- Ensuring the timely and high-quality submission of all RFx proposals, adhering to established protocols and delivering excellence in execution.
- Ensure proposal financial viability
- Draft development and/or commercial contracts in close relationship with business and legal partners
- Ensure EUROAPI CDMO’s role and responsibility during negotiations of contracts.
- Close deals matching EUROAPI CDMO Global business targets
Management of key accounts:
- Be EUROAPI CDMO primary contact for assigned key accounts
- Develop a deep understanding of the account’s organization, stakeholders
- Build long-term and trusty relationships with key contacts to develop business opportunities and ensure appropriate support
- Define, communicate and support implementation of a business plan for key accounts
- Liaise with key accounts manager from API solutions organization to identify and implement synergies for common accounts
CDMO Business Activities Reporting:
- Weekly and monthly on all business activities to Head of Business Development CDMO EU and APAC
- Quarterly on key business activities to Chief CDMO officer
REQUIREMENTS:
Education / Experience:
- Degree in Science (Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Pharma, Biotech)
- Solid experience in working cross-functionally; self-starter with a strong sense of personal accountability as well as the ability to work in a cross-functional team in a competitive and dynamic environment
- 5 years minimum of successful business development experience in the field of CDMO and API.
Technical skills & Competencies / Language:
- Understanding of the drug development, quality and regulatory approval process and requirements as well as trends in the pharmaceutical industry
- Fluent in English
Soft Skills & Required Behaviors:
- Excellent communication skills and networking capabilities to interact with clients and the Euroapi organization
- Strong negotiation skills and crisis management capabilities
