Château La Rametière is a 19th century château located in the Normandy countryside, only 25 minutes from Mont Saint Michel, and at the crossroads of Normandy and Brittany. The chateau, with 7 remodeled suites, has operated as a chambre d’hotes for 12 years. While the majority of guests are from France, we also receive numerous visitors from the UK, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, the United States and many other countries.

We focus on providing a warm welcome to our guests. We encourage them to enjoy the tranquility of the countryside and explore the region’s beauty and history. In addition, recent renovations inside the château have benefitted guests, as well as staff.

**Job description**

As the secondary host, you will manage the guest experience two days per week, when the lead host takes her days off. You will provide an exceptional experience. You will communicate with guests about their stay, prepare and clear breakfast, assist with room cleaning and turnover, as needed, restock honor bar and maintain inventory, check-in guests, provide recommendations and information on activities in the area, check-out guests and process payments appropriately, record income and expenses and share all appropriate paperwork with the director.

**Variable tasks during the year and job responsibilities**

You will communicate regularly with the lead host regarding the guest experience and the state of the chateau.

You will be in charge of breakfast service, including cooking simple egg requests - scrambled and hard-boiled for 2 days per week.

You will be in charge of maintaining food safety standards.

You will coordinate with cleaning staff and assist with turning over rooms or daily cleaning, if needed.

You will complete administrative tasks, including adding charges to invoices, issuing invoices to guests, scanning invoices, processing credit cards, uploading invoices and expenses.

You will welcome guests upon arrival and create a welcoming atmosphere.

You will place the bakery order for the following day.

2 days per week, likely Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 hours per day plus occasional hours to help, as needed.

From 14 euros/gross per hour
