Capable of loading and unloading up to 60 tons of cargo (wood, wind turbine blades, containers, mobile hospitals, etc.) in hovering flight, with a reduced environmental footprint, this transport system is unprecedented.

**WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?**

We are looking for a Design Engineer to join the Flying Whales Design Team in Suresnes, you will be responsible to conception, pre-sizing, designing of new products, and drafting the specifications for the manufacturing of the LCA60T structure and its interfaces.

**Mission**:
**YOUR MISSIONS**:

- Elaborate structural design solutions of the various components with a vision of design to cost and lean manufacturing.
- Participate in the organization and development of design methods and tools.
- Conception and modeling of structural parts.
- Pre-sizing of structural parts.
- Analyze and respond to requests from the various departments associated with Airframe, Hull or Cargo bay.
- Support the multidisciplinary teams responsible for work packages internal and external.
- Interact with different actors to define innovative and efficient solutions.
- Participate in the organization and planning of structural design activities.
- Ensure the traceability of the analyses and trade-offs to guarantee the technical relevance of the work performed (technical validation).
- Propose innovative solutions during the execution of the different studies.

**Profile**:
**YOUR EDUCATION & EXPERIENCES**:

- Education: BAC+5 engineering degree (or equivalent) in aeronautical or mechanical field
- Previous experience: Minimum of 3 years into an aeronautical industry or design office.

**YOUR COMPETENCIES**:

- Knowledge of:

- Design of aircraft structure.
- Design of metallic parts (sheet metal, NC, extruded).
- Design of assemblies and Mechanical Installations.Knowledge in design of composite structures is a plus.
- Elaboration/preparation of mechanical drawings on CAD.
- CATIA V5 - (CATIA V6 / 3DExperience is a plus) or another CAD.
- Elaboration/preparation of drawings on CAD (2D or 3D).
- Elaboration of ICD documents.
- Experience in product lifecycle management tools.
- Experience in product development phases of aerostructures (PDR or CDR).
- Experience with structural design principles for aircraft primary structure such as fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, materials strength and material characteristics is a plus.
- Knowledge on Stress Analysis - FEA is a plus.
- Knowledge on stack-up analysis according ASME Y 14.5 (or ISO GD&T standards) is a plus.
- Knowledge of EBOM and Standard parts for aeronautic industry.
- Knowledge of Aerospace manufacturing techniques and process is a plus.
- Parallel engineering (baseline and tradeoffs).
- Previous experience in the field:

- Mechanical conception design.
- Detailing design of assemblies and detail parts.
- Integration Design between structure components.
