**Job description**:
**Overall job definition**:
Lead a team of Chemical Technicians to research, assess and propose advanced concepts and materials (TRL1-3) to improve various aspects of an EV cell at chemistry level, relevant with the company roadmap and objectives. Different technologies can be studied (advanced Li-ion, solid-state, Na-ion, LiS etc..) de pending on the company roadmap and objectives.

**Main missions**:
**Management**
- Leads a team responsible for the technical assessment and TRL validations of a specific technological brick family.
- Leads and manages internal and external projects, contracts, while collaborating with internal teams (R&D, Industrialization, Projects, Simulation,) to ensure the success of one’s missions
- Leads and manages collaborations with suppliers, customers and strategic partners.
- Considers employee wellbeing as a priority to achieve team and project targets Responsible for reporting his group activities to the hierarchy and other departments
- Responsible for yearly review with the team members, their work time repartition versus projects/topics, their safety at work
- Uses common management techniques to ensure efficiency and creativity within his/her team.

**Technical expertise**
- Is the technical referent of the technological brick family she/he is in charge of.
- Applies and transmits its expertise on Li-ion and/or Solid State cell electrochemistry.
- Applies and transmits its expertise on Li-ion and/or Solid State cell manufacturing at lab, pilot and industrial scale.
- Proposes new concepts, processes and materials to improve various aspects of an EV cell at chemistry level, relevant with the company roadmap and objectives.
- Applies agile approaches to answer quickly to internal and external customers.
- Contributes to the company roadmap.
- Is aware of and analyzes solutions from competitors.
- Knows the state of the art on his/her topic of expertise.
- Participates to national and international meetings.
- Supports Intellectual Property monitoring and proposes innovative patentable concepts.
- Supports or leads RFQ/RFI of equipment and/or components.

**Profile**:
**Knowledge**:

- Excellent understanding of the Li-ion and/or solid-state technology
- Excellent understanding of battery related technologies
- Excellent understanding of current technological locks and limits
- Excellent understanding of electrochemistry applied to battery
- Manufacturing processes of Li-ion and/or Solid State cell
- Various analytical methods commonly used in the field of Li-ion battery

**Experience**:

- Minimum 5 years experience in similar job at automotive or battery manufacturer/R&D institute with Team management experience.
- International experience (China, Japan, Korea, Germany, USA) in R&D and/or Production for Li-ion battery

**Qualifications**:

- PhD/Thesis and Engineering school or similar in Physical Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Batteries or Material Science.
- Fluent in English
