About you and this role
The Production Scheduler is part of a Team of people responsible for planning and communicating production requirements to operating personnel at our production site in Lauterbourg.
They work with information provided by the Business Production Planner to plan short term production across a number of reactors, validating and communicating the production schedule and making changes in line with demand from multiple customers.
They require full proficiency in a range of technical, operational, or analytical/scientific processes and procedures through job-related training and will gain considerable on the job experience to perform a variety of work assignments.
Responsibilities
- Extracts medium term production plans from internal systems and breaks this down into a minute by minute production plan for operating personnel across multiple production reactors. Obtains information from the maintenance schedule, equipment/plant availability, resource availability, raw material availability and finished product storage location to support the production plan.
- Evaluates capability to commit to schedule and develops a plan to resolve exceptions that are covered by Business rules. Understands the plan to resolve the exception and the impact on the production schedule and provides appropriate feedback to the Planner/Regional Planner.
- Communicates production instructions to operations personnel. Utilizing knowledge of plant capability, capacity and inventory to ensure daily production targets are met.
- Uses SAP and Profit Point (Mimi) tools to schedule production, has a knowledge of OMP Planning and assures good maintenance of master data.
- Develops schedules to support life cycle changes eg. new item introductions and discontinuations.
- With Planner and Raw Material Planner, manages inventory levels to target expectations and customer service availability agreements.
- Serves as on call contact for issues regarding production scheduling.
- Ensures site integration issues are resolved.
Qualifications
- Ideally a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or another scientific discipline demonstrating logical thinking and computational skills (Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, Mathematics and Sciences).
- Two or more years work experience in Supply Chain Planning or Scheduling, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Competencies required for success in this role are: An analytical mindset, strong communication skills, focus, initiative and teamwork.
- Fluent in English and French language.
